I'm considering getting my 5 nieces Broadway tickets to see Mary Poppins. I did find discounted tickets thru Travelzoo, but still I'm having a bit of sticker shock. Has anyone here seen the show? Would it matter seat wise if they were in the 1st Mezzanine around 7 rows back? Being that she "flies" I want them to be awed. Not sure they would get that being higher up as opposed to side orchestra seats. It would save me quite a bit of cash. Can anyone offer advise? TIA

it is designed in a way that she flies from a point in the theater that is view-able from all seats. you can try you tube for an actual look but i've seen it and my uncle actually works on the broadway show and it is a great show no matter what seat you're in. trust me some of those front row orchaster seats you pay a pretty penny for aren't that great, i saw peter pan starring kathy rigby and i was in the 4th row from the front of the stage, my neck was killing me after, you were close which was great but sometimes it was either way too loud being next to the orchestra or you couldn't see some stuff going on in the back because you were so close and another time i saw rent and i was in the last row way back next to the door and it was the best view i've ever had (in that theater) - go figure. It's all luck of the draw, either way i'm sure they'll enjoy the show. Hope that helps. :goodvibes

I just received an e-mail from the Disney Visa Rewards Card offering seats in the orchestra, mezzanine, or balcony for $59. You have to use your Disney Visa to purchase them and the tickets are good for selected weekday (Tuesday through Friday) performances in January and February I don't kow what prices you got from Travelzoo, but maybe these are better?

Balcony is the way to go for this show. The seats to the side kind of curve, if you can find seats in the middle of the balcony this would be ideal.

I can't remember exactly where our seats were but I know they were not front and center so to speak. We saw and enjoyed everything. We went for my son's birthday when he turned 10. He loved it. even my non-theater type husband said he really enjoyed it. I am not sure how old your neices are but think this is a fabulous present and balcony seats are more than fine.

We saw it from the balcony, and I thought it was perfect. When she flies, the balcony is the place to be!!

OP here- I can purchase side orchestra, mezzanine, or balcony. So are you saying Balcony is better than the mezzanine? Just want to make sure. Wish I had a Disney Visa, but I don't.

We were second row mezzanine on the right side facing the stage. We made eye contact with Mary when she flew by. It was amazing.

Mousesavers often has discounts. Also try broadway.com and playbill.com

When we saw it last year we were in the very last row way up at the top, in the corner.

And it was still an absolutely amazing show. Go, no matter where the seats are.

if ANYONE is afraid of heights DO NOT get balcony seating. Its like being up in heaven!

The mezz is much better. I saw Mary Poppins from the back of the orchestra and it was fine. The set is HUGE so being close down in the orchestra isn't that great. I'd go with rear orch or being in the front of the Mezz.

saw the show in feb with very last row mezz seats, and still had a great view of everything. could see mary flying and didn't feel like i missed anything. would have liked to be up a little closer, but with purchasing day of student discount tickets, i couldn't really complain!!

this show is regularly 40% off at TKTS. I saw it about two months ago and even at curtain time the theater was only 2/3 full, so if you really are looking for a bargain I would wait. My seat was about half way back in the Orchestra and I could see just fine.
