Okay who sings this song? I just saw Clay Aiken singing it on tv but I swear that is not who does it on the radio. So is there another version of it? Is it an old song that is being redone?

clay does sing a version of it, as you saw...but kenny rogers did it as a duet with wynonna a few years back...not sure if that's the one you're hearing or not...


i, of course, prefer clay's version!

There are a couple different versions. The one I hear most on the radio is Kenny Rodgers and Wynnona Judd. However, I THINK Josh Grobin has a version of it out too.

Okay, thanks! I thought I had heard a version with Kenny Rogers but I thought the other voice was Kenny Loggins!!! OOOPs, I guess I didn't realize that the other voice was a woman!

This song is actually part of an entire contata (sp) called "Written in Red." My parent's church does it every year and all the music in it is just gorgeous.

The song was written by Mark Lowry (a Christian comedian/singer) in the 90's and yes, everyone has covered it including all those people that you all listed. I like Michael English's version the best.

I use to not like this song either. However, now that I have a little boy I love this song and it gives me goosebumps whenever I hear it.

We saw him in concert back in October and he is always a treat!

Now I just need to look out for a Josh Groban CD with Christmas music. I have the one cd with one christmas song but I haven't seen one of just Christmas music.

I guess I must go shopping!

I have a Michael Crawford Christmas cd and he sings it on there. He also does Joseph's Song and Scarlett Ribbons. It is definately my favorite Christmas cd.

You'll be shopping a LOOONG time because he hasn't released a XMas CD yet - those his fans are anxiously and impatiently (at least me!) waiting for one. NOt this year, he's already announced.

When he finally does, I know it's going to rock.
