OMG!!!! Man I am so excited! I guess Captain American Civil War will be the third one which is awesome! Captain Marvel seems strange as well as the Inhumans but I know they will be awesome! Guardians of the Galaxy two was going to happen and Black Panther and Doctor Strange were already known. Avengers 3 obviously about Thanos, but I didn't think it would be two parts...you know what is not on the list.....Thor 3.

All I can say is Bob Iger will be a happy man for a long time. The marvel investment was one of the best for him and the company.

I'm also extremely excited for these movies.

It's taking me a minute to wrap my head around this. I'm patiently (ha!) waiting for Avengers: Age of Ultron to better determine how they're going to approach the rest of the movies. But if Black Panther and Captain Marvel are being brought in, I think we can all see where it's headed. I will say that the Black Panther concept art looks sick. And I really, really, really hope they can work out a deal to have Spidey in Captain America: Civil War.

There is a Thor in the announced lineup....

Captain America 3: Civil War - May 6, 2016
Doctor Strange - Nov. 6, 2016
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 - May 5, 2017
Thor: Ragnarok - July 28, 2018
Black Panther - Nov. 3, 2017
The Avengers 3 - Infinity War: Part 1 - May 4, 2018
Captain Marvel - July 6, 2018
Inhumans - Nov. 2, 2018
The Avengers 3 - Infinity War: Part 2 - 2019

Most of those will bring in $1 billion each once its all said and done. Hopefully thats gonna bring some money in for attractions.

I'm curious as to why Marvel has apparently decided not to go forward with a Black Widow solo film - fans have been clamoring for one for a couple years now, and it seemed like a possible addition to Phase Three.

Deadpool is Fox and has been announced.

Fox =\= Marvel. I want Marvel to do it because I personally don't like the direction Fox has taken with the X-Men franchise. And yes, I'm fully aware that may never happen due to the success Sony and Fox have found with the reboot of Spider-man and the newer X-Men movies.

Just curious, have you seen the Deadpool test footage? What do you think Marvel would do that's better than this?

Even if Marvel suddenly had rights back to all the characters they sold off, they wouldn't be doubling down on the number of movies they are making. I think you'd probably just see fewer lesser known characters getting movies. Marvel would probably not be doing Dr. Strange and Black Panther but making more Spiderman and X-Men movies instead, and almost certainly wouldn't be doing Deadpool.

I was wondering how they could follow Thanos and the Infinity War, but after seeing the movie lineup including Inhumans, I'm really hoping to eventually see The Illuminati take shape (without the FOX characters of course). Yup, I'm looking past 2019 :rotfl2:, but the Illuminati / New Avengers stuff has been some of the best Marvel stuff in years!

Is Namor a FOX character due to the Fantastic Four connection?

My guess is that Widow will stay a strong supporting character for the SHIELD / Cap / Civil War stuff along with Iron Man (no Iron Man 4 either).

Marvel found their strong leading lady in Captain Marvel, as they mentioned they are going the Carol Danvers route. Really looking forward to that fim

Last I heard, the rights to Namor were back with Marvel after previously being with Universal, but there might still be some red tape to work out.

Plus Namor is so across the board..is a golden age creation like Captain America...he was also an Avenger, an Invader, a Defender, an X-Man..so Marvel can argue he goes way beyond the FF.

I am excited for blank panther. I was hoping for him since they started the whole avengers movie series.

I'm not sure how I feel about the fact that they seem to be making Tony have made ultron instead of Ant man... Then again I can see why they wouldn't want to make an ant man movie. He doesn't have the best hero repertoire. He seems best known for creating a supervillian-robot (ultron) and although they did allow Tony to have his alcohol issues vice Antman was also known to beat his wife and I'm not sure they would want to go there.

Ant Man comes out in 2015; it's the last of the phase 2 movies. Michael Douglas is playing an older Henry Pym (the Ant Man you're describing above) and Paul Rudd is playing Scott Lang, who takes over the Ant Man persona.

There's some speculation that Pym is actually the creator after all. Descriptions of the AoU plot from Marvel suggest that Tony Stark resurrects an old weapons program that leads to Ultron rather than creating it, so it could be something Pym started in his youth.

EDIT: Here is Marvel's official synopsis:

Marvel Studios presents “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to the Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.

Hmm I missed that. I have mostly seen the trailer. I try not to look too far out in movies as I then get disappointed if some of these movies bomb and the others get cancelled. (Not saying it will happen just that I have seen it in other things to tend not to look that far ahead anymore)

I can see doing it that way with the character that created it being an older person and not the current avenger.

Not sure I'm looking forward to an antman movie though. I never liked the character. I'll give it a chance like everything in the series though. Maybe it will surprise me.
