Marriott World Resort and Conv. Center

Has anyone ever stayed there and have an opinion?

Just curious what to expect, our stay is free because DH travels soooo much that he gets so many points we are crazy to stay anywhere else except a Marriott.

I havent been there but know others who have. Its very nice and has great pools. In a good location too.

There are lots of reviews for this hotel at www.biddingfortravel.com and www.tripadvisor.com. Looks like a fun resort. Have a great time!

I stayed there a while back and loved it. It was very well kept and the pool area was very nice. My only thing was that it was convenient to the parks, but there wasn't anything around it to eat out. You have to drive to get something or pay the big bucks to eat at the resort.

Jen I am having a hard time figuring out its location. Is it near a particular park, do they have shuttles to any of the parks. If going by car how long to the parks or is it walking distance.

Hi, Robin:

I stayed there for a special trip for a friend who had just adopted a little girl. The hotel is a total four star. The concierge and the guest service is incredible, so much that I wrote to Marriott about the extraordinary way we were treated after I got back. It's a great hotel.

When I stayed there the shuttle was $5 (in 2000). You had to reserve a spot at the concierge desk the day before.

It is closest to Disney, and please note, even the onsite hotels are not within walking distance to the WDW parks! As for proximity, it's less than a mile away, and that's about as close as you can get for offsite.

As for the restaurants, they are pricey but the kids meal at Champions was a big favorite of ours, even for the adults. They are about $6 and are more than enough.

Stayed there Feb 2001, and it was wonderful. If you have a car though you either need to budget $14 per day to vallet park or be prepared to walk quite a way from the parking lot. I also didn't think that there was a hotel shuttle to the parks, but the taxis outside are plentiful.
