Since Disney seems to have shortened park hours in March, we decided to try an offsite location for 3 nights. Can anyone pass along a few pros and cons about the Marriott World Center in Lake Buena Vista? I think we'll use the time to explore Orlando and Kennedy Space Center and then go to Disney for the remainder of the week. Thanks

It is a great hotel with a great pool complex. We have stayed there several times. It is very close to Disney property with easy access. You will have to pay for parking at Disney unless you have AP's.

And you have to pay for parking there. (Which burns me up since it's the MOST inconvient parking anywhere. You want me to PAY to take a bus?)

However, the hotel itself is VERY nice!

Thanks for the info. I think while we are staying at the Marriott we'll skip going to Disney and do things in Orlando (probably Universal or Sea World). This will be the first time, we are splitting the trip, but there are not many late evening activities in Disney during our time frame. We usually stay in Disney and spend the entire week at their parks, so this will give us a chance to try new things! The hotel looks great on the website, but it's always nice to get personal feedback.

I've stayed at the World Center back in 2007 and we are staying here again in March 2009. They have a lot of great restaurants inside the Marriott, try them all if you can. I enjoyed the Italian & Japanese Steakhouse restaurants. If you get a room overlooking Disney you can see the fireworks both at Epcot and over at Magic Kingdom.

I have some photos of the Marriott, both the rooms (mine & my brother and SIL suite) and the pool. Here is the link.

If your going to Universal, you may want to stay in one of their own hotels, they are alot of fun and rank on a par with the Disney deluxe hotels, also if you stay there you get Front Of The Line access for the attraction..The Royal Pacific is my favorite(It is like Universals version of the Poly)

Sounds interesting. I still can't believe were opting to split the week, but with the parks closing so early the last week of March........

I know,we are going in the first week of Feb. we always stay at a MK resort(usually the Poly)..but its just become to expensive, for half the price we decided to rent a home in Paradise Palms resort, it has 4 bedrooms flat screen tvs in every room an dits own splash pool on your screened in Lanai..its also only 10 minutes from the Parks, I have always been intrigued by the idea of renting a place so I am looking forward to it
