Marriott Horizons versus Cypress Harbour

No problem-there is a very nice family pool, ideal for children. Zero entry, and then a deeper area for grown ups. Not exactly a lap pool, though. And, the previous poster is correct-the three bedrooms are, indeed, at Imperial Palms rather that royal Palms, but they share a lobby. Imperial Palms is a rather isolated building with its own small pool. By the way,for future reference, I hear the new makeover is smashing.

Does the Horizons second pool have a nice slide or anything like that?

TIA!

chris1gill Hey, I was surprised to see an old thread of mine pop back up to the top! Let's see if I can help. DS (age 10) picked the Marriott Horizons and we spent 8 nights there this past March. We spent a lot of time at the resort. I posted a review on the accomodations review board. Horizons has 2 pools. One pool has a nice pool slide that even the adults enjoyed. It has a zero entry area and is near a waterplay area with buckets and fountains. The other pool has the pirate play area. I actually was surprised that DS ended up finding more kids to hang out with his age at that pool area. The pirate pool area is part of a larger pool that has a deeper end for swimming also. We did a lot of pool hopping and enjoyed both areas.

The mini golf is fun. We paid $25 to play an unlimited amount of golfing for everyone in our villa for the whole stay. A great deal. We played every day. - we also enjoyed playing ping pong, pool, and basketball.

DS participated in many of the planned activities. We actually thought the planned activites weren't as good as the ones at the Vistana Resort. Many things didn't work. The one activity that my son really enjoyed was the scooter racing. He also enjoyed cane pole fishing (catch and release).

One perk of the Horizons is that it's a fairly small resort so everthing is within a 5 minute walk. I highly recommend that you request a room away from I-4 (this resort is pretty close to I-4). We had a room with a nice waterview and watched a waterskier most mornings while having breakfast.

We drove over to Cypress Harbour and checked out the resort. It's a much larger resort. It was more lush in the plantings. I wouldn't mind trying this place also some time. The pools at CH do not have a slide.

Let me know if you have any more questions!

Horizons does have two pools. My 11 and 13 year olds loved it; DS 16 was a bit bored. It is geared for the younger kids at both pools and it is noisy at both. I liked the convenience of everything at the resort being compact, but overall prefer Cypress Harbor.

Glad you had a great time, OP. I would love to stay at Horizons as well. I did sign up as a Marriott Rewards member (although I've never stayed at a Marriott!). Any ideas on how I can get a great deal to stay there? We don't mind doing a timeshare presentation to get a better rate.
