Well, I'm checking in today! Woo hoo! We've stayed once before, but it was spring break in March and too cold to swim that year, so I haven't seen the whole resort. We also were so busy that trip that we didn't even eat at the resort, so I'm looking forward to enjoying it this trip.
I would go on the TUG boards
www.tug2.com and read reviews.
We are using an AC (free week) from Interval (still had to pay an exchange fee) and only got a one bedroom, but that's fine for me. In a one bedroom, you still have a full kitchen and washer/dryer, and those are the most important things to me! I'm just hoping for a comfortable sofa sleeper!
It's big with a lot to do, some rooms more recently renovated than others. You can also go on Marriott Vacation Club website and see a map of the resort. I'm sure if they have any activities involving painting something, my daughter will want to do that! (We're not going to the theme parks morning till night, so will have a lot of time at the resort this trip).
They have two gas grill areas, so I've requested to be close to one. Unfortunately, the units closest to where I requested aren't the most recently renovated, but it was a trade-off for me. I want to cook most of our meals, and grilling is easy.
The location I think is good - easy to get to Disney. I think it would be convenient for Universal as well. You definitely need a rental car! One day my husband dropped me and the kids off at the MK and we took a cab back (my friend and her kids were meeting us for the day) and the cab ride was almost $50. Yikes.
We're stopping at a Super Target on our way from the airport tonight. There's one that's convenient off 417 and Orange Blossom Tr. Then there are a couple of Publix not too far from the resort to get more groceries.
