Marriott Farifield price guarantee

Ok, I am getting very frustrated with Trivago. I check the site, and the price for the Marriott we're going to in August is $165 through Expedia. I click on it and it's good. I go back to Trivago's main site and the rate is now $195, the same as Marriott's. This happens every time!! I can't expect Marriott to honor a rate that disappears every time you go back to the main page. It's not just that hotel, either, but all of them. What gives?

I wouldn't use travigo as it is just a site that finds the best deal from all the travel sites, which is why it's changing all the time. I find expedia doesn't fluctuate a lot. I just picked a random week in August and the marriot maingate. Expedia was $162 and marriot was $179. So I would book through marriot and then put the claim in using expedia. They will check fairly quickly. Good luck!

I wanted to thank you guys for this information about Marriott's price guarantee!! I was looking for a nice hotel near SF airport. I saw that the Marriott Waterfront hotel was rated as one of the best and as a Loyalty member I like staying at Marriott. But the price for a regular standard room was $330 on every website, including their own...except for one! There was one site I'd never heard of listing the room at $148. The next day I remembered this thread. I booked a standard room for $330 with Marriott and immediately filed a claim form. I really didn't think it would work, but lo and behold! I got an email giving me a new rate of $118! That's an amazing deal.
