traveling solo, probably only two trips to the parks, but need to hit publix several times i expect, and i don't want to feel stranded.

anyone stayed here without a car?

thanks.

We have stayed several times at Horizons, which is across the street and I think you would feel stranded without a car. Publix is 3 or 4 miles down the road, so not really walking distance with groceries and the parks are 10-15 miles. You would be stuck using a cab for these locations.

Another option is the Trolly that runs on I drive. It has a stop right in front of CH. This runs all the way from the outlet mall on one end of I drive to the outlet mall on the other end of I drive. It is a nice service, pretty cheap, but a little slow. I think we used it for .50c a trip or you could buy a weekly pass. This will give you access to several smaller grocery stores and all of the outlet shopping and restaurants.

Another option is to call Enterprise and rent for the days you want to go to the park. They will pick you up from their local office and rent you a car for the day. I do not know how close their Orlando location is to CH.

thanks for the feedback. one of the big reasons that i don't want to rent a car is that i don't have collision insurance on my (old) vehicles here at home. i also don't use credit cards. so, i would be pretty much forced to buy that daily insurance for the car. i checked on this and it runs around $15 a day. that would make the car rental around $200 for the week for a subcompact.

i ithought a daily cab ride to publix or wherever would be cheaper. and, if there is some sort of public transportation that stops by cypress harbour, that is even better. i plan to chill lots around the resort and hit the parks two days. i do my own cooking, have some marriott bucks to spend at the resort, and thought that the resort probably has arranments with mears or some other shuttle service to get to disney. i called grande vista recently, and they said a shuttle to disney was $14 round trip.

if there's some sort of public transporation for under $1 or so, i don't think i'll feel too stuck.

if you have any other thoughts, let me know. thanks.
