Marriott Cypress Harbor or Resid. Inn(Seaworld)?

I have ressies at both, and need to select a hotel. Can anyone offer input about which is preferrable? Thanks!

I've only been to Cypress Harbour, but we loved it and are going again later this month. The resort is nicely landscaped with 3 lovely pools and a nice clubhouse. The refurbished rooms are nicer than the older units, but we've stayed in both and would be happy even in the older units. I've stayed in other Residence Inns and they were not as nice as Cypress Harbour.

We stayed at cypress harbour also, and its a very nice place, think the room would be much bigger then at residence inn also,all cypress harbour rooms are 1250 sq ft and 2 bedroom. Also there is a washer and dryer in each unit which comes in handy. They also have a security guard at the front gate so only people staying at the resort have access.

Marriott Cypress Harbour is a 2-bedroom condo.

Residence Inn is a hotel.

MCH is also a timeshares - so there will be activities for your children.

I've stayed at the Seaworld Residence Inn, and I've done a time-share tour at Cypress Harbour.

Cypress Harbour is completely made up of 2-bedroom condos. As you walk in the door, there's a kitchen and a laundry room on one side. Straight ahead is a dining room table and a living room with a view towards the lake. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed and a large tub. The guest room has a queen and its own bath. You'll have two balconies -- one screened, the other open air. 3 TVs and VCR/DVD players. Pool is okay. At Cypress Harbor you won't have daily maid service (unless you pay extra).

Residence Inn has studios, 1-bedrooms, and 2-bedrooms. If you're looking at at two-bedroom, the size will be approximately the same as Cypress Harbour, and you'll have the same two baths. 3 TVs, but no DVD/VCRs. No balconies. The kitchen is smaller: full-sized fridge, microwave, 2-burner stove, dishwasher, no oven. You won't have the laundry room (though there is one near the lobby). One big plus is that the Residence Inn provides a free breakfast bar each morning, and it's a good one: eggs, sausage, waffles, fresh fruit, and more . . . the menu changes a bit each morning. Residence Inn has a Pizza Hut by the pool, but no other on-site restaurants. The pool is nice, but not all that big. It's empty mid-day while everyone's at the parks.

Hmm. I toured the place with the time share people, and they said that TIME SHARE CUSTOMERS don't get maid service (well, you start out with a cleaned room and clean towels, and you can have daily maid service for an additional $20/day). I believe the original poster was talking about just renting a room, so it could be different.

I believe that is correct that if you are coming in on a timeshare week you have no cleaning service but if you are renting you are entitled to some cleaning services.

Just got back from week stay (rental) at Horizons. EXCELLENT stay with 2 year old. RI right next door and also nice but smaller, perhaps better suited for adult travelers with no kids. You have kids? Horizons unbeatable due to pool and water works "water park" on site.

Cypress Harbour is our favorite resort. Great resort, lots to do, great location, not too big, not too small.

I stayed at Cypress Harbour last year and there was no maid service. I think maybe you can pay them to have a maid come in, but that doesn't seem necessary in my opinion.

I just called the resort directly and asked if I make my ressie online through marriott.com and am not taking the tour, do I get daily maid service? They said yes. Only those staying under timeshare tours and owners do not get maid service.

Cypress Harbour!!! We are owners there & I just did a powerpoint presentation on it for my computer class (hospitality & tourism major). I have layouts and pictures and tons of info if you'd like me to send you the presentation. We love it there.. and althought the residence inn is very nice (i work for the residence inn up here in buffalo.. lol) cypress harbour has a LOT more room, a jacuzzi in each suite, and a private screened in porch.

I stayed her 11/03 - 11/10. I was there on a timeshare week but ended up needing to come a day early so I paid for the first night. Therefore, I had maid service the next morning. The rest of the time no service except for the time I paid extra to have them come.

We've only stayed as a rental, not timeshare, and we have gotten daily maid service. It's a wonderful place.
