We are a family of six that stay comfortably in an Aulani 1bdrm villa (our youngest two kids are an infant and 3 yr old). If we wanted to try the Marriot Ko Olina for a trip this coming winter, could we book a 1 bdrm, and just request a rollaway for the 3 yr old (since there's no "5th sleeper"), and bring a pack n play for our baby? There is a big jump in $ from 1 to 2 bdrm. Thanks!

The maximum for a one-bedroom is 4 people. While you can get a roll-a-way and a crib, the maximum is still 4 people. They probably would not count the infant for the total, but they will the 3 year-old. We had 4 adults and my 3 year old niece and we had to book a two bedroom. We are MVC owners so we used points. Your best bet is to call and see if they allow 6 with the ages of the children.

That said, we've stayed at the Marriott Ko Olina 3 or 4 times and love it. We do walk over to Aulani so I can have my Mickey Bar and Disney fix, but we do prefer the Marriott.

Ah ok that's what I was wondering. I will call and ask! I'm glad to hear you like it so much! We thought it looked really nice.

So another question... you mentioned you were MVC, could I rent points to stay there at discounted rates, like I can with DVC/Aulani?

I'm not sure if people rent points. I do know that people will rent weeks on Redweek. Just go to the site, search the location, and your dates and see what you can find.

ETA, like DVC, MVC members can only book rooms a certain amount of time before check-in date. We can rent 13 months out, other can rent 12 or 10 months out. So depending on when you want to go, things may book up fast.

Thank you, this is helpful!

We are a family of 5 (kids 12, 10 and 8) and stayed in a 1 bedroom this past Christmas. I called when I booked to make sure they would allow the 5 person. They said no problem, and brought us a twin roll away for that we put next to the pull out sofa. There was a $20/night charge for the roll away, but all 5 of us were registered guests and no issues with wristbands etc.

Ooh this is good to know! Thank you :)
