You know, one that YOU don't decorate, one that he goes to retreat to.....

I do have one. But it used to be a big room, and since the kids came it is now the smallest room in the house. But at least it is "mine"..... ;)

No--our house isn't big enough.

But should we add on a second story or upgrade to a different home--he will have his theater room that he gets to decorate as he pleases. My only rule is the doors must be able to shut. He doesn't have free reign of open spaces.

We live in a tiny, 750 sq. ft, 2 bedroom home and DH did indeed have HIS room in the 2nd bedroom...until I got a job watching my friend's baby during the day at our house. Now DH "shares" his room with the baby - baby gets it during the day while DH is at work, and DH gets it the rest of the time. Poor DH had to undergo a complete overhaul of HIS room - painted, rearranged, cleaned, organized - and a chaging table and pack-n-play now share space with his desk & computer & such. We're discussing starting a family of our own in the near future, so I've warned DH that the 2nd bedroom will eventually become a kids room and he won't get to even share it anymore. I think this has somewhat motivated him towards moving into a larger house - something he swore was never going to happen given housing prices around here - just so he could keep HIS room! He's also threatening to take up residence in the garage...

yeah, he has a workshop. He has a "den' in there. a laz-y boy chair I wont let in the house and big screen tv.

Yes, no Disney is allowed. I don't even clean that room. That's his job.

But of course....his "office" has Nascar stuff all over and stuffed fish (that he caught himself) on the walls. The furniture is dark brown leather, very manly. He also has the garage, so he has no complaints. :)

DH has 2 rooms that are his. A bedroom with the bed he chose that best suits him, his large collection of history and science books and collectibles family and friends have given him. Also has a workshop where he turns 60's and 70's cars into *muscle cars". The car below (Zip) is getting a "big block" soon. :teeth:

Oh yes, there is a "Mans Room" in our house. He has his sports memorabilia, pool table, TV and mini fridge in 'his' room! :)

My DH does not have his own room.

At my parents house though, my father has 2 rooms to himself.
He's got an extra bedroom & also the basement for himself. Both rooms have a computer for him. He's commented that he'd like to make the basement into an apartment just for himself, w/o my mom being around to nag him. :goodvibes

Of course he does. It's called the laundry room. :rotfl2:

My DH does not have his own room (just because we need all the space/rooms we have), but he does have his own remote control. Does that count? :confused3

Yes, he has a room. Its our movie/ home theater room. Its downstairs, has a big screen and sound system. He spends hours and hours in there watching tv, movies and playing Xbox 360. He picked the colors, furniture, etc- and he cleans it.

My DH has his own room too. The room I don't want to watch TV in at the time, if we don't want to watch the same thing. :rotfl2:

LisalovesPooh,
My DH keeps trying to talk me into building a 2 story, so he can have a movie theater. He wants it all down to theater seats, velvet curtains, & walls painted black. No, I'm not having a room like this in a one story house, where it can be seen by all. :sad2: The problem with a 2 story house is I have pretty severe arthritis & couldn't deal with the stairs on a daily basis. He's even spoken to someone about putting in an elevator for me, so he can build the 2 story. I've been able to disuade him so far, but it hasn't been easy. When he starts talking like this, all I can think about is the house payment. :scared1:

Yes, when the boys moved out, I took the smaller of their rooms and turned it into DH's "office." He was away on a business trip when I changed it over.

I repainted it, moved his computer stuff in, put up shelves for all his various collectibles, moved all of his junk into the closet, and hung up all his Nascar photos. The only thing in there that belong to both of us is the household file cabinet.

He loves having his own space. AND, luckily, he loves the way I decorated it. I don't go in there now. I'll stop by to vacuum once in a while, but leave it alone, otherwise. Afer all, it's his space. He can keep it any way he likes.

 dh has the basement-Superman theme that's what he collects along with tv, stereo and surround sound --and the garage with tv, stereo, surround sound set up, dart board, tools, etc.! works for us!!!!

My DH gets the bar in the basement. He doesn't drink, but he stores his hobby stuff there, and nobody is allowed to go behind it or touch his stuff. He wants to build a room in the basement, but it hasn't happened yet. (In fact, DD's bedroom is just a corner of the basement blocked off by bookcases.)
