My mom added me to all of her contracts and we bought VGF together. The 2 I plan to buy (that will eventually be for my kids) will be with her as well instead of DH even though all of our money is co-mingled.

DH and I have been together for more than 25 years, and if we ever were to separate we would have much bigger issues to deal with than how to split up Disney points. The names on the account has more to do with ease of making/combining reservations under one membership. We have a hard enough time with the 2nd use year.

Cash. I ended up just putting both our names on the contract I turned in this morning. It wasn't a big deal either way and the only thing that convinced me was the ability to have more guests for member events

Flip side this is morbid what happens if you pass away? Having you both on it will help not have to do paperwork later.

Finally not sure in your state but I know some it doesn't matter if he is named on the contract or not he still owns 50% of it if you were to get divorced.

The only benefits to not having him on it (at least for our state) would be he wouldn't need to sign anything and legally wouldn't be allowed to call DVC/book reservations.

As someone else said: you won't be able to attend special events (if they'll ever be convenient) access the Epcot lounge (if it stays around) or buy AP (if they'll be back). Unless you add-on direct.

Thanks I'm FL & have kept our APs active so that's not a concern. I don't plan on doing any moonlight magic events etc, but us both having access to the lounges is a bonus.
