Sorry,I didn't really know what board to ask this question. A friend who knows I frequent disney fan websites has asked me to get some recommendations on great places for a marriage proposal. She is taking her daughter and her boyfriend (future hubby)to WDW in October,he has told my friend he want to propose to her on that trip. Please give me some great ideas to make this proposal extra special. She is also a big Pooh fan.I don't know if Pooh is at any character meals but my friend is willing to pay money for a Pooh appearance to make it special. I really appreciate any
advice!!!!!!

YOu cant pay for any appearances but for a proposal Id suggest cinderellas castle right when the fireworks start. Thats what I did

Awww! How sweet!!! Well, the Castle is always a beautiful spot to propose! I think at least!!! As far as Pooh Bear, he is at the Crystal Palace resturant, which is in the Magic Kingdom, and is almost right in front of the Castle!! :lovestruc

There is a thread with ideas somewhere. I think someone asked Pooh at Crystal Palace to give his GF the ring while he proposed.

And someone else mentioned a carriage ride.

HOW SWEET!!!! I am by no means an expert, but Crystal Palace has a character breakfast with Pooh, Tigger Eyore and Piglet. I would call the manager and see if you can make fun signs for each character to hold, Each one saying a word,

WILL YOU MARRY ME?

Now this is assuming there are four characters there, but I bet for a special event ike this, they would do it. The only down side is if he wanted to do it at night, this obviously would nto work, but speaking as a woman, I would much rather ahve something fun and thoughtful like this in the morning, so I can be in heaven all DAY LONG than some no so fun idea at night, but that is just me. Good luck!!!

LOVE :lovestruc this idea. The characters are at the Crystal Palace for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, so it would work at night as well! They do a little parade around the restaurant occasionally where they hold signs that say Hip Hip Hooray.

If you want any other ideas, you could hop over to the Weddings & Honeymoons board on this site.

GL!

Just thought of another idea. The Restaurant in EPCOT called Coral Reef has the large aquarium and sends divers in the water and hold up signs. You can schedule a nice dinner and request a diver (you need to do this ASAP) he can hold up a banner and it can be two sided, It could say something like

"Katie (insert her name) I love you very much" on one side and then the diver would turn it over and it could say...
"will you marry me on the other"

Any girl would love that.

Or ya know something that would be so funny and totally awesome, I am not even sure this could be done, but you could book a meal at CRT and see when Prince Charming is there, I am not sure when he is there. Anyway, he can tell him he is proposing and ask him to come over and talk to the girlfirend giving her some extra special attention. Then he can pretend, he is jealous and say "Hey buddy, she is with me" and see if the Prince will say "I don't see a ring on her finger" then your friend can say" that is because I have it right here" then he can pull out the ring, get down on one knee and propose. HOW freaking cool would that be? I don't know if it can be done, but It is Disney after all and anything is possible...when you wish upon a star!!

You should not have asked a question like this where someone like me can see this, I could go on and on and on and on. But I PROMISE..I won't. I promise! I am known for this kind of crazy stuff. I just love making things special for the ones I care about:rotfl2: . People joke that I make a trip to the bathroom a speical occasion. LOL.

That is the cutest and sweetest idea I've ever heard of as far as WDW proposals!!!

I wish this happened to me!

Kata: I would definately suggest this one, especially if she's a big Winnie the Pooh fan :goodvibes

Cool, I was not sure  what meals they were there for. I am eating breakfast there in December, so I knew that one. I knew some DIS WIZ would know the answer.

I plan on officially proposing to my DP on our trip in August '09. I plan on giving DP a penny at Cinderella's wishing well, telling him to close his eyes and make a wish.. and then when he opens his eyes, be there with the ring and ready to propose. We have plans to get married at some point, but I would like to make it official, especially in the MK!

Ooh, I like that one too!! :lovestruc

Wow, lots of great ideas.

One more thing you can do is have a personalized menu at the Coral Reef.

Getting into the MK before opening (breakfast ADR) would be nice then you could have photos taken by the castle.

Great thread I was going to ask the same thing!

We are going to disney in December with my sister and partner and he wants to propose to her (now she knows it's going to be coming, so it has to be a suprise and a good one) he has asked me for some ideas, we are all really big disney fans but she isn't really into it like we all are so I'm not sure she would appreciate something really cheesy.

Loving the character idea.

Thank you all for the great responses!!!!!!You guys came up with some excellent ideas!!!!!!!!I didn't know there was a wedding and honeymoon forum. Thanks for the information,I am going to check it out right now.I can't imagine those ideas would be better than the ones you guys have given me.Thanks again for all your help!!!:)

I used to always joke that DH would end up proposing to me by saying "So, what do you think about us getting married?" and then throw the ring at me LOL

So... We went to Disney in 2004, DD's first trip and we took my mom for her 50th birthday. DH had made dinner reservations at the castle mid trip and so my mom and DD had a night together at MGM seeing all the shows they love and I tolerate :rolleyes1

Anyways, it was a nice dinner and I ordered desert... on the plate in rasberry syrup was "So what do you think about us finally getting married?"

Needless to sai I said Lets, we kissed and everyone clapped. It was cute

We actually set a date in liverty square, we had one of those scrolls made with our names joined and the date... and I said so what do you think about June 24th?

We had our familymoom in Disney as well the following year... and of course being the wise cracks that we are, we had shirts made... Mine said "Just" Dh's said "Married" and DD's said "It's about time"

We got so many comments about those shirts :rotfl2: and a couple judemental stares so but what ya gonna do!

Anyways.... Cinderella's castle is always a great option IMHO :thumbsup2

Loving the character idea.

We were having dinner at Artists Point in WL and my boyfriend reached into his pocket (which he knew I never wanted a restaurant proposal). and he pulled out a piece of paper that he handed to me and then left the table.

That paper was the first in a treasure hunt that led me to the front desk, then to the bar and finally to outside our room. the last piece of paper said to read the first letter from each line of the notes backward which spelled out "Will you marry me?" And then inside the door he was waiting in a suit he smuggled down and a silk rose from the wedding of the friends who had introduced us. It was very romantic!

So lot's of non-Disney ideas as well out there.

We witnessed a proposal at CRT at breakfast one year. It was so romantic - I cried - A waiter came to their table with characters all in tow - he had a sliver serving platter with a cover on it. I couldn't hear what was said by him and the characters, but he removed the lid and the fellow got down one one knee and then there was lots of hugging!!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes
