Marriage Licensse Help

Hello~

We are getting married in Disney in July. Where do we get our marriage license from? We are traveling from Chicago, is that all we need?

You'd need to apply for a license in FL. You can either go to the courthouse (there are two close to WDW) and apply in person, you'll get it that day. Or you can apply at the brevard county courthouse website and they will complete the process through the mail.

When I went I needed my ID and my social security card. I brought my passport too just in case. we didn't end up needing it.

We applied through Brevard from Canada. We had to complete an application for license, have it notarized by our lawyer and return it to them along with photocopies of our passports.

We started this process rather late, but they were wonderful, turning the license around in a day and returning it to us in a pre-paid fedex envelope we had shipped along with our documents.

It was great peace of mind to have the license in hand and we didn't have to spend a minute of vacation time applying for it.

However, they assured me that if you do apply in person, you will get it while you wait.

There is a chance the laws in florida may change by July. About a week before you leave to go to Orlando call ahead and see what documentation they are requiring. A dl and ss card may not be enough to prove legal status.
