Didn't it come with an envelope with the mail to address already on it? Mine did (but I got mine here in Miami) and we just put a stamp on it and Rev. Knox took it and mailed it for us.
You mail it back to the courthouse you got it from.
That's exactly how it worked for us in July. The officiant took it from us once our witnesses signed it, and then he filed it for us with the courthouse. All we did was sit back when we got home and waited for it to come in the mail, (about a month and a half later).
My DH added me to his insurance once we got the copy that was stamped by the courthouse. It has 2 stamps then another that says "this is to certify that this is a true and correct copy, etc..."
this is a picture of mine, it is from Miami so it may be a bit different than one from brevard.
I don't think just a copy of the license that is signed by just the witnesses and the officiant will be enough to do any legal things with. I was flying a few weeks after the wedding and even the airline told me I needed the "certified" copy to prove my name bc the ticket was booked under my new name and I didn't have my license changed yet.
Being that we live in the UK we didn't want to have to wait for it to be mailed to us so we took it back to the courthouse ourselves and were given a certified copy. We were also able to buy extra copies for $3.00 a piece. We didn't want to send for more so we bought a few to save us the hastle. Rev Miller was going to mail it back for us but understood why we wanted todo it ourselves. Also we were informed that in Florida the licence doesn't need to be signed by witnesses but you can if you wish.
Does anyone know if i need anything else for my dad(who is marrying us) other then the certificate i got in the mail from the online thing? Like do i have to call the court house and get anything else for him? Thanks!
