hi
my boyfriend and i are staying at WDW at the beginning of early May and hope to get married at Orlando (kissimmee) courthouse while we're there- a disney wedding would be great but we'd never afford it-our holiday was booked already so we've decided to turn it into a honeymoon

has anyone got married there this way? or know anyone who has? and if so can you offer advice, tips about what we can expect, what we need to take with us? anything and everything would be great

many thanks in advance-any and all advice gratefully received

Glad to see you popped over & have posted your q on this section too:thumbsup2 . Hopefully someone on here will be able to answer your question fully. There are so many past brides as well as brides to be that post so you re gonna get a fountain of knowledge coming your way. Everyones super friendly too so ask away with any questions you have re your big day:goodvibes

Well...we didn't quite get married the way you are planning...

There are a lot of options for weddings in the greater Orlando area that would be more "dollar friendly" than a Disney wedding.

There have been brides here who have gotten married at Leu Gardens (http://www.leugardens.org/Weddings.html) or Cypress Gardens (http://www.co.berkeley.sc.us/departments/cgardens/pages/wedding.html) or lots of other locations.

You can do a google search of "Orlando Destination Weddings" and see what other options you might have.

I'm not sure you can actually get married at a courthouse - while they can provide a license (you may need different forms of ID), most of them don't necessarily keep a licensed officiant on staff to do weddings "on the fly". Chances are you would need to find an officiant who can do the ceremony for you and sign the license.

You can try contacting the officiants that are recommended for Disney Weddings, they do weddings all over Orlando and may have some ideas for you!

and you can find others (and their websites) here: http://www.magicalkingdoms.com/ftw/wdw/officiants.html

Anyway...congratulations!
