How is the food here? Do they have anything for a picky Dh who is a meat and potatoes guy?
Does the belly dancer come out during lunch or dinner only? Thanks.

The food is quite good, and not quite as exotic as you might think. I am a picky eater and can find quite a bit on the meny that appeals to me. As for the belly dancer, I can't be 100% sure or the schedule, but we have been there for lunch, both early and late, and she has been there at all times.

I love Marrakesh. I am also a very picky eater, but definitely found enough to eat. We are going in December again for dinner.

If you are really interested in watching the belly dancer request a table on the main level. We were seating on the second level (just a few stairs up) in the back and we had a really hard time seeing her. She didn't move around much, just stayed in the center of the room.

I can also highly recommend Marrakesh. It was a last minute substitution when a diming CM messed up our ADR at LeCellier (booked it for the right day..one month early though) and we're glad that the ressie got messed up! We even ended up purchasing the cookbook and I'm going to make the lamb meshoui as my first attempt.

I am a picky eater and by picky I mean PICKY I however LOVED marakesh. May I reccomend the Beef Beerwat Rolls for your meat and potatoes lover?

We are hoping to eat there for lunch in March of 2008 - we have had reservations three times before, but this one always seems to be the one that falls on a night where we're exhausted and we cancel to stay and rest in the room.

Can anyone recommend any of the desserts?

The Moroccan Symphany has a large variety of pastries to it. The Marrakesh Delight has the best mint ice cream in the world!

Marrakesh is one of my family of picky eaters favorites. Everythings been good so far.

Hate to be the lone voice of dissention here, but our experience at Marrakesh on 8/7/07 proved to be absolutely horrible. We had a later seating and arrived just in time to have the "band" leave after 30 seconds ........ never saw another performer of any kind the remainder of the evening, but that was okay with us. We all ordered the "Royal Feast Thingy" in order to try the best of what they had to offer. What a huge disappointment. The soup and beef roll were fine ..... although, on the cold side. When the lemon chicken arrived it was so dry that I could absolutely not eat it and did not have a hint of lemon anywhere in it. Perhaps I could have tried to eat it if only the waitress had brought me a drink re-fill before I had to ask 3!!! times!!!! Our waitress could not have been less attentive if she had tried. The entire wait-staff seemed very un-motivated and more interested in socializing with each other. The lamb shank was "okay", but nothing to write home about. The veggies (or should I say 2 carrot chunks) were over-cooked and the rice was just okay. The desserts were lack-luster, but then again, I live in the Dearborn, Michigan area where there is a large Arabic community and the standards have been set much higher. I really expected more for a $200 meal (for 4 people) and will certainly never return. On a high note, our pets that travel with us got a spectacular meal that evening!:thumbsup2

I AGREE TOTALLY!!! After reading the accolades of Marrakesh, I dined there...MISTAKE. The Royal Feast was anything but royal! The little tiny beef roll was good and the soup was tasteless without tons of salt and pepper. The chicken was HORRIBLE, the couscous was great - what little there was - and the lamb was great.

It was so expensive and so little food!!! Never, ever again!!!
