Marrakesh vs. Aukerhouse (sp)

Hi,

I'm trying to decide about making PS for our May trip. I would like to eat at Marrakesh but dh is afraid that the food will be too heavy and suggested Aukerhouse. Now I know DH is willing to try most any type of food but I'm afraid that the menu will be too exotic for him. We live in Chicago and regularly eat Middle Eastern food so we're both familiar with the food but Norweigan food will be new for both of us. Any advice?

I like both Marrakesh and Akershus. It really depends on what you order as to if it is heavy. At Akershus you can choose off of the buffet. There are many salads to choose from as well as sliced meats and cheeses and cold herring dishes. The hot entres are good but some can be heavy. The mushroom pasta was very rich...but good. If you are really wanting to eat lighter foods I think Akershus would be a better choice. The Cous Cous and rice at Marrakesh are good but seem to fill me up fast.

We have dined at both and our premier choice would be Norway.
The selections are varied and the food is very good. The dining atmosphere at Noway is much better and you get a sense of complete relaxation during a needed Disney break.
Besides the better food, you get good luck according to Norwegian mythology when you lick the dessert plate.

I would say the food at Akershus is much heavier than that at Marrakesh.

I also have to disagree with winterman.... the atsmophere at Marrakesh is much better than at Akershus. Also Marrakesh has entertainment.

We have eaten at both...and loved them both! We did lunch in Norway on our last family trip and dinner in Morocco during our 'solo' (with out the kids ) trip.

We have a PS for Marrakesh this upcoming trip. I think our boys will enjoy it. My husband would choose Morrocco b/c of the belly dancers

You probably can't go wrong with either choice. I do think Marrakesh might be more 'normal' food (not really, but it is chicken and beef/lamb kabobs and rice)
