Marrakesh entertainment charge?

i've come actoss general comments but can't seem to clearly confirm or deny that Marrakesh has added a $7 or so charge to cover the music and belly dancing. Does anyone have details, such as:

- true for lunch?
- true for dinner?
- per check, per adult, or per person?
- something I'm not thinking of?

An extra $35 including a 4 year old will have me dropping an ADR fairly quickly...

I would expect if they do this it is only for those who aren't eating. If you order I would expect those sort of charges are built into the food price.

We went in February and they still had belly dancing and musicians - but I don't remember seeing an entertainment charge. Especially with the way they have it set up (they play for a little, she comes out and dances, then they leave - plus, some seats are really close, others are farther and probably have a lot worse views) I don't see how they could "enforce" it.

2015 guide book is written based on late 2014 info, FWIW. Ohh, looked it up. Published 8/2014. So it's based on early/mid 2014 info.

Never use an old guidebook! Get the absolute newest book!

Restaurant Marrakesh is a restaurant. I have never read of folks going there with any other intention other than to eat.

Right? The entire thing is quite odd.
First, Marrakesh can barely get guests to come as it is now. Add in a fee and no one would go
Second, that's written some time ago, it was wrong then (we did eat there in 2014) and it's wrong now

I was there for lunch in Feb/16 and no cover charge for any entertainment. It would have to be something very new & very much under the radar. Like the PPs have mentioned, Marrakesh struggles to fill even a third of their seats on any given day. I can't imagine any cover charge. If anything new, we would have heard a huge howl go up on the DIS & on other forums.

I have not heard of an entertainment fee, but Marrakesh used to charge an additional $7 or so for anyone on the regular DDP who ordered the prix fixe Feast and I am pretty sure this was in effect back in 2014.

That upcharge for using the DDP was due to the appetizer included in the Feast, perfectly understandable. Never heard of an entertainment charge there.

I went looking because this surprised me. The reference comes on page 439-440 of the 2015 Unofficial Guide. It's a quote from a reader that said they had a $6.99 per person charge for the music and belly dancing. @lentesta might want to take a look and make sure that comment doesn't appear in future editions if it that charge is no longer assessed, or at least make a note in the book that the fee is long gone.

I don't believe that there ever was one. Incorrect info reported I believe.

We were there for the first time in March. LOVED it, no extra surcharge. Whole family enjoyed the belly dancing show.
