Maroon 5 after dark event in August

I just read that there is a special music after dark event with Maroon 5 Aug 25-27. May explain why hard rock isn’t available to book at all, but I am more worried about the impact to our vacation - it sound like City Walk may be close the evening of Aug 25, and one of the parks the evening of Aug 26. Is this something g that happens often at Universal? We are there the 24-29 and now I worry about how limited we might be.

Thank you for posting this. That explains why availability for our dates are so limited and expensive. I was hoping for the price to go down.

Googled and found this -

Guests attending the event will check in on Thursday. There is a private, all-inclusive block party at Universal’s CityWalk beginning at 7:00 p.m. The next day, Guests can enjoy Universal’s Islands of Adventure from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. before heading over to Universal Studios Florida for an intimate Maroon 5 concert from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. After the concert, Guests can enjoy Universal Studios Florida all the way until 1:00 a.m.

It is a slower time of year generally. So it does sound like limited access to City Walk on the 25th. The parks often close relatively early that time of year so US being potentially closed at 7 on Friday is not a huge deal. I don't think overall it will have a major impact on your trip other than that.
