I have been on her sister ship the Voyager, and let me tell you, they are very impressive ships!

Seriously, I'm definately looking at booking the Mariner for summer 2005 for our family. Can't wait to start reading reports from people who have been on her. We really loved our Magic cruise but we also plan on "exploring" other venues.

I just received a phone call from Maleficent59(Sarah) who is first in line to board the Wonder this morning(11-06-03). As she was talking to me, she went out and took some photos of the Mariner from the DCL Terminal deck. Sarah's comment was, "That's one huge ship!!!"

We've been on the Magic three times and will be sailing the Navigator in April. WOW -- is all I can say after seeing the two 'sister ships' side by side.

Just got off the Magic yesterday ... was hoping to see the Mariner in port, but it was doing a two-day CTN before it begins it's normal Eastern/Western runs today. We will be sailing on her in February , and we'll take a bunch of pix of the Wonder, which will be alongside.

We have also sailed the Navigator and Explorer, and will do the Voyager when she comes to NY next summer/fall. They are tremendous ships ...

I have a comparison of the DCL and the Voyager-vessels, if anyone is interested. Drop me an e-mail and I can forward the link to the website...

I believe today 11/16 is her first sail date! We too are sailing the Mariner in June 2004. Our first cruise outside of DCL...can't wait to try something different as we have older teens now.

That is one big ship. It blows your mind when you think of it as a floating 15 story hotel...

I will be checking out a sister ship (Explorer of the Seas) in March. It will interesting to compare RCI to DCL.

We were on the 11/16-11/20 Wonder, saw the Mariner on 11/16 in Port C and then again in Nassau ... she's a biggie alright ... has her own helipad even ... still love our "little" Wonder though

We just got off the Explorer a few weeks ago. It was a very beautiful ship but I must say, she ain't no Magic

My brother is on the Mariner right now, I am anxious to see how he likes it!

I have the Compass (just like the Navigators) from our sailing, I was considering scanning them but wasn't sure if there would be interest in them.

Sure, absolutely! I gave them to my brother before he left to look at them but he forgot to give them back so as soon as he returns (Monday) I will get them and scan them. I will post on this thread when I have them up on my site!

I am booked on the Mariner for next July.

DH thinks it is too big now though, lol. The Golden Princess we were on last year was 109,000 I believe. Mariner is much larger than that. Golden was set up in a horrible way. Some elevators only went to certain floors. It was so confusing.

I missed the pic . We're booked on the Mariner in March. When we decided to cruise for our spring break next year, I was surprised by how much less it cost to sail on the Mariner than on the Magic. The Mariner itinerary weeks are opposite the Magic in terms of Eastern/Western and the week we were sailing was the Eastern sailing on the Magic, we've done that before and wanted something different. And then when we compared pricing and discovered that we could sail on the Mariner for almost 1/2 of the cost of a Magic cruise, yikes, we were sold. Watch out DCL, this mega ship is going to be a tough competitor!

You aren't kidding, lol, about the prices. We are sailing on the Mariner in July and booked a category C which is their junior suite. It's much bigger than the category 5 Disney room. We are saving $500. It's still a pricey trip, but cheaper than Disney and more activities.

Don't get me wrong: we still love Disney and will cruise with them again. We just wanted to get back to an "adult" ship this time around. (We may try to sneak in a 4 night Wonder cruise though in early 2004.)

We actually boarded the Wonder for our 4 day cruise on the 16th. The Mariner is HUGE!!! the amazing thing is that we left before it from Port Canaveral (gave it a nice horn blast since it was going on it's first voyage) and it was in Nassau before us on Monday morning!! The folks aborad it said it was magnificant -- maybe that will be our next cruise -- nah!! why do anything but DCL?
