:lmao:

I guess I need to stop clicking on this thread. When I saw your name, for some reason my eyes didn't see the "c" in epcot. My first thought was, "We have a troll." I need a break.

I have the heart of a troll so it's okay. And Sherry...just refer to me as "Pcot".

See? This is what I consider a problem - you have a person who has worked at a drug booth for over 5 years, has done numerous school reports about drug use and has been educated over and over again about drug use, yet believes that not only did he/she see a person who OD'd on pot BUT also thinks it's smarter to jump off a cliff than to inhale.
To the OP, instead of just spouting off propaganda, why don't you truly educate yourself about marijuana - not just the evils, but also the benefits. What are the costs of keeping marijuana illegal vs. the costs of legalizing it. When you weigh the two different sides, you can then come to whatever conclusions you want and instead of using fake scare tactics that no one believes, you can actually have an intelligent debate with someone about the issue.

OP, you are entitled to your opinion. People will always make excuses for what they do/did that was wrong, just to make themselves feel better.and of course they are the experts. Watch......

You are right. We also reserve the right to snicker a little when someone says jumping off a cliff is a better idea than inhaling a joint. We are all entitled to opinions.

Putting on flame suit...

Ok- here goes- I was driving home from work Wednesday night, but had to run a few errands in the next town over. I smoked a little before I started driving. I am usually a very aggressive driver, but after smoking I drive slowly and cautiously. I had a green arrow to make a left across a main intersection. As I started turning, a car came from the other side and took a right without even stopping. I was already in the middle of the intersection and he came inches from hitting me hard. Normally I would have continued my turn, counting on him to stop. This time, I just yeilded right of way and hit the breaks hard, even though it was clearly mine, and doing so saved me. We seriously missed by inches.
It ended up being a double blessing as I watch the drunk bounce between the yellow and white lines on the road and was so happy to be behind rather than in front of him.

Marijuana is not the devil- overindulgence is the devil. And that applies to everything in life.

No flames, just a question...

Don't you worry that something like this will happen and because the cops will smell the pot on you, that you'll be blamed for something that wasn't your fault? That would worry me.

I completely agree.

Yes- which is a big part of why I am overly cautious.

Ahhh, makes sense. With my luck, I'd get hit by some really old, bad driver who shouldn't be on the roads at all, but because I smelled like pot, the cops would blame me. I don't smoke, but if I did, well, that's how my luck would go. :p

OK, if this "kids" believe that marijuana is bad and therefore isn't going to smoke it, I guess that's a good thing. But somebody has certainly filled his/her head with all that stuff that they have always tried to fill kids heads with.

Fact, one certainly cannot overdose on marijuana. Otherwise, a lot of the 60s and 70s "kids" would be dead -- my friends included.

They use to say that marijuana use led to harder drugs. We use to say that drinking milk lead to hard drugs. Makes just about the same amount of sense. Have you ever seen anybody that uses hard drugs that didn't start off on milk?

Anyway, marijuana was made illegal so that the government could come down on a defined segment of the citizens of the United States. There is a far greater evil out there that is legal - cigarettes. But they have a very strong lobby and the marijuana growers do not.

99.9% of the people that I know that smoked marijuana waaaayyyy back when, have now switched to a legal high -- alcohol.

This made me giggle! Thanks all!!!

and i know it's been said but I will say it again:
1) pot has known health benefits which is why it is legal for medical purposes in many states now
2) you can NOT od on pot (on food/passing out on the wrong surface/etc sure)
3) ciggs and alcohol are much worse for you, yet they are legal
4) It only leads to harder drugs because it is not regulated and you are NOT always getting straight pot
5) alcohol is said to lead to hard drug use...why is it still legal
6) compare alcohol related car accident fatalities to pot related car accident fatalities, I guarantee you alcohol will kill more

People die from overdosing on marijuana? I don't think that's true.

Yeah, I was thiking the same thing. I have never heard of a pot overdose unless they were misxing it with other drugs.
I don't see anything wrong with as ADULT smoking a little pot to relax you or for medical use. I am not saying that I want my kids doing it. I have heard of many more drunk driving accidents and deaths than strictly marijuana accidents. Marijuana is not addictive like drinking or cigarettes. Cigarettes can cause types of cancer and drinking can cause liver damage. Cigarettes can cause health problems to those around a smoker. You can drink yourself in unconciousness. I know I have left out alot more here.
To me drinking and smoking cig. are far more dangerous than Marijuana. Now other drugs are a different story.
MY Dh smoked for 13 years, everyday. When I met him 16 years ago, I made him stop because it was too much money. He stopped without any problems. He is a supervisor now , he is a responsible father. He has never smoked a cig, he doesn't drink unless its a special occassion and he has never tried any other drugs.

I have studied both the benefits and cons of it. I have a report I must turn in before I post it here.

People will try every stupid thing to keep their addictions going!

Doesn't sound like it. Marijuana has many benefits to it.
Do you really think that a prescription drug is "healthy"?

All drugs, even tylenol, have pros/cons....has nothing to do with addiction.

forget it i'm not risking plagarism, you guys aren't worth it

I used to smoke it too. While I agree that it's no worse than alcohol, I do think it's worse, or as bad as cigarettes, due to the simple fact that there is no filter on a joint.

I've heard that one joint is the equivalent to your lungs, as ten cigarettes. I'm not sure how true that is, but if you look at the gunk left behind in a marijuana pipe after a few uses, you can only imagine what's building up in your lungs.

Why alcohol is legal and marijuana isn't, is beyond me. The only thing I can think of, is that it can't be controlled by the government. Anyone can grow pot; not just anyone can make their own wine/beer/hard liquor.

JMO. YMMV.

You're 17 years old. Many of us responding to your posts have been around for a lot longer. We've tried it or have known others who have. I used to think like you do. OMG if I smoke pot, then I'll hallucinate or go out of my mind. This does not happen. Pot is not the terrible horrible thing that you think it is. I'm 49 years old and have not smoked a joint in probably 20 years. My hubby was a much heavier smoker and he hasn't either. Pot is not addictive because if it were my hubby couldn't make it throught the day w/out it with as much as he used to smoke.
Now if you said cocaine or crack or heroin-I know people who have lost their lives because of these drugs.
