Marie's New Years Resolution~in July

The workout was great....and I was really ticked that we couldn't do it again tonight. We had parent orientation at school.
I PLAN on doing the workout in the morning after I walk the dog. It's just REALLY hard to be that motivated that early in the morning!! :rolleyes1 I'm going to try.
Today was good...workwise. Food wise...it sucked!! I had to leave early so I could go get my Alabama tags $$$ and didn't eat b-fast.:guilty: . Then lunch was a mexican resturant...:sad2: :guilty: Dinner wasn't bad...I had a turkey sandwich made by ME!! I already have my stuff ready for lunch tomorrow! :thumbsup2 A bowl of cauliflower w/ lt. ranch and a tomato sandwich. :cloud9: I'm also going to buy a case of water to keep under my desk. They have a little fridge, so I can keep a couple bottle in there. I don't plan on eating with/like this group...I'm not being a snot/snot...I just don't want to gain it all back. I've already gained 10 and I'm ticked about that. One of the girls has worked there almost 2 years....she told me when she started she weighed 110 (she's 22)...she's now 140! She looks good, but 30 lbs in less than 24 months....that's alot...isn't it? (she makes fun of her "muffin tops"...:sad2: ) I know what NOT to do, and I'm not going to do it! (did I say that right?)

Ok...it's 10pm(ish)....5am comes too darn early, so I'm going to bed!!!

Lat pull downs- 30 lbs - 2 sets of 15
Back Rows-20 lbs - 2 sets of 15
Chest (bench) Press - 20 lbs - 2 sets of 15
Crunches - center - 2 sets of 15 (feelin' the muscles now!)
Crunches - side to side - 3 sets of 15
Reverse Crunches - 2 sets of 15 (gotta get rid of the pooch!)
Tricep Kickbacks - 8 lbs weights - 2 sets of 12
Tricep Extensions - 8 lbs weights - 1 set of 10 (those hurt!)
Butterfly Press- 5 lbs wgts - 2 sets of 15 (we must, we must, we must increase our......:rolleyes1 )
I wonder if I'd get in trouble if I swam laps in the morning...pool doesn't open until 10....I might ask....:confused3

Ok...got my lunch ready, so not crapopla eating today!

The workout felt great this morning, and I really think it helped me make it through the day!

Guys...I have a problem...nothing major....(don't panic)
I like my job - it's not hard and it's basically the same stuff I did up in Memphis. I'm going to change a few things on the way they do it....(not enough detail for me), but that would be for my benefit. The problem that I'm running into is....:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

They are a VERY obnoxious group!! I mean....VERY VERY!! One of the girls is 22, wears tight jeans and t-shirts every day...(even though they're only supposed to wear it on Friday...:confused3 ) and her language is total trash!! She laughs when one of the men say something about her chest, or her butt, or anything about her in general! She will say some of the most inappropriate things (cursing) and she doesn't care who is around!! (customers, managers, owner!!! :scared1: )
The girl that I'm replacing is 28 and is the exact same way!! (except for the tight t-shirts...she's a big girl.) Between the two of them, I've learned about a dozen new (gross) sayings...words I wouldn't say in private, let alone in public, and I'm basically embarrassed to be working there right now. :confused3
I know that once the 28 year old leaves, it will be more tolerable for me....(she's really loud and obnoxious...calls everyone "crackhead" "crackbaby" "crackdealer" etc!!) The other 3 women in the office are in their 50's and much more reserved and calm. Thank goodness!!
The manager (comptroller) doesn't do or say anything about how these 2 carry on!! It is way out of control in my opinion!
Today, one of the guys in service said something to me...inappropriate....and I turned around and looked at him and said..."ok...let's get this straight right now...I'm not your hon, darlin', sugar, sweetie, or dumplin. My name is Marie. I don't answer to anything but that. And if you decide you want to talk to me, I'd suggest you clean up your mouth first." (he made a snyde remark about my jeans...which fit just fine!) He looked at me like I was a total (b)itch...and that's just fine!! The 22 yr old looked at me and busted up laughing....:confused3 I looked at her and said..."I'm glad you think I was joking, but I wasn't. I don't put up with that kind of crap...and you shouldn't either."
Yep....been there 4 days....anyone wanna see if I make it another week?
I'm not a snob...you guys know that....I'm just shocked at how they act!! I curse at times....(just ask DH)....but not like this....it's every other word!!! One of the other ladies...(52 yr old) said she and I would go to lunch one day next week. She could tell I was uncomfortable. I'm not going to say anything to her....I don't know her. I'll just go in, do my job, and hope that after P is gone, things will quiet down. :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache:

Hi marie, just catching up! Hope work gets better. Maybe when the one 28 yr old leaves, the 22 yr old will settle down since no on else is acting like that? And I think you did good to set the guys straight right off the bat, then no surprises.

I am so impressed with your workout! See the positives in living in a complex! That is one of things I am looking forward to when I move into the condo (hopefully). If I get the one I want, it is on the same floor as the gym, so I would just walk down the hall!

Wowsers. Sorry about P. Hopefully you're right and when she leaves the 22 yr old will calm down too. If not, maybe she just needs a talkin' too from you about what you're comfy with, you know? :)

You're TOTALLY ROCKIN' the workouts, girl!! And you probably should update that mileage counter you still have set at 0. :rolleyes1 But really, you're kickin' some you-know-what and you'll have those few pounds back off in no time. :woohoo:

I'm gonna tough it out at the job....it's not a "bad" place...just needs some "tweaking"....that will take time.

Also, I haven't updated my mileage because I'm not sure how far it is....it is most likely a mile...but I'm not sure. Also, when walking the dog, I can't really keep a steady pace...darn pee breaks!!!
Oh....and get this....I'm really enjoying the walks & workouts! I would have NEVER walked the dog at 5 in the morning in Memphis!! AND DS wants me to start getting him up in the morning to workout too!!!:thumbsup2

I think that if you concentrate on getting exercise to be routine, and then concentrate on your food choices, it may be easier. Let's face it, you have just started a new job. It may not be a challenge, but that is still a major stressor. Add to that some really immature and inappropriate women, more stress. I am really proud of you for standing up for yourself, when that guy made a comment to you. It is very smart to set ground rules early. You are one smart woman. :woohoo: I hope things improve when P leaves.

I think you are doing awesome. Keep up with the workouts and those 10 pounds will be gone in no time.

Sorry to hear your new coworkers are so obnoxious! I can't believe they think it is acceptable to act like that! Don't let it get to you though, you'll get 'em straightened out pretty quick :thumbsup2

If the other ladies go out a lot I think your best bet is to plan ahead and make sure you have an appetizing lunch prepared each day. Otherwise it is easy to cave in and eat out w/ everyone else. Don't be too hard on yourself about eating out at first though, cause it can be a nice way to get to know your coworkers - that is the ones you want to get to know ;)

Today was "better" at work. I guess they were still recouping from the weekend so it wasn't as noisy & obnoxious! We'll play it by ear tomorrow.

I got kinda tickled at lunch today! One girl brought in leftover pizza and asked me if I wanted some, another was going out (again!) and invited me along....I said no thanks...I brought my lunch! Then I pulled out the cauliflower & ranch dip along with the lettuce and tortilla shell to make a lettuce wrap!! :cloud9: They thought I was nuts!!! (and I care.....:rolleyes1 )

Ok...I posted a big long journal last night and my computer promptly locked up!! Nothing major...we found a church that we like. :angel:
I'm going to keep my options open on the job front...keep sending out resume's...we'll see what happens. ( I think when "P" leaves, then it will calm down....she is really obnoxious!!)

OH OHOHOHOHOH - a woman is flying into Memphis on Saturday to look at some houses.... and ours is one of them!!! (she is really only interested in ours and one other!) Get that pixie dust pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: flying guys!!! I HAVE TO sell this house....NOW!!! :hourglass :worried:

Lets see...what else... food has been good. Bought groceries yesterday$$$! Lots of fruits and veggies!!:thumbsup2 Oranges,apples,carrots,cauliflower,watermelon....YUUUMMMMMM!!!!

Today -
B-1 blueberry muffin...:rolleyes1 (couldn't eat oatmeal and drive)
L-lettuce wrap and cauliflower w/ lt ranch
S-fiber one bar - oats & chocolate (these things are amazingly good!!)
D- not sure yet...probably a turkey wrap....

Oh, and the dog woke up 15 minutes late this morning, so I didn't have time to work out....gonna have to start setting the alarm!! :sad2:

that's it for my exciting life!! gonna go fight with my DD some more!!

Yeah, I know all about the 8 year old drama. Believe me. :rolleyes: We're on our SECOND backpack and school hasn't even started (can't decide) and she's thinking aout where else she can look just in case she hasn't found THE ONE yet. :sad2: (sorry, not willing to trade...let's look into boot camps. :laughing: )

GREAT job with the food, girl. When they see how energetic and happy you are, not to mention you shrinking, they are gonna follow your lead. They have got to be sick of eating like crap at this point. Especially the one you said had gained 30 pounds in a year or something. ugh. You SHOW them how it's done. :woohoo:

Hey groupies!!!
Good day today.....for the most part!
Got up at 5:15, and did a mile with the dog. Work was ok....little heavy on the language...I slid a few comments in there...."easy on the adjectives...we get the picture!" "FILTER ladies, filter!" "you're mother must be so proud!"...:rolleyes1 (amazingly enough...they actually caught on to my subtle hints!!

Ok...so I brought my lunch today, but they ALL insisted I try this hamburger joint...(PM me if you want to know the name...) so I went...BIG BIG mistake!!! The worst thing I've ever eaten!!! I was polite and choked down about 1/2.
I told them I couldn't believe they thought that was a good burger!!! (insert green pukey smilie here________)
I did have my strawberries and Fiber One bar for snacks.
Oh, and man did I have a good workout tonight!!
(DH got the midnight shift!!! :woohoo: :banana: :yay: so we can go back to our evening walks and workouts!!)
Ok..so we went down a different road tonight...UPHILL!!! It wound up being 1 3/4 miles and it was tough!!! Very steep hill!! I told DH that we're going to incorporate the original path with this one and it should be 3+miles of a bunch of hills!!! :scared:

Exercise - 3.1 mile walk (40 minutes ) in 104* heat (uphill both ways!!!) (this is not counting the 1 mile I do with the dog every frickin' morning at 5:15 am!!! :headache: )

I swear to you~the hills are KILLER around here!!! My calves hurt, my thighs hurt, my butt muscles hurt!!!:scared: My gosh it was a workout!! I told DH that there was no way I could do weights tonight!!

Work was ok. I only had to "adjust" P once. She was really....REALLY ticked when I did it...oh well!! :rolleyes1
(she was ranting *mf*f*sob*ah* - it was like watching someone with terrets syndrome!!) Anyway, I looked at her and said "What is wrong with you??!" She told me what the "issue" was, and I said "Wow....all that drama for something that really doesn't matter anyway!" She got up and walked out (smoke break) and another girl (22 yr old) poked her head around the corner of her desk and said "Thanks! No one has ever talked to her that way!" I smiled and went back to work.:surfweb: Like I told my DH...I'm not sleeping with these people...therefore they don't have to like me!! :rolleyes1

ok...gonna go shower and get ready for tomorrow's drama....work & DD's!!!
