I love Marie! Stitch should never have left the MK. Why cant he go back to meeting in Tomorrowland like he used to and keep Marie where she is?
I think Marie has been meeting in Town Square for around 3-4 years now?
Maybe the powers that be wanted a change.

Such sad news.

My daughter is 10 and loves Marie. They have a special only-girl-with-two-brothers thing going on . We don't even have the movie but it is on Netflix. I am so thankful she got to meet Marie on our trip last year. Marie is so sweet and the photos are priceless. It was just random that we saw her at the flagpole. We had no idea about KtP and when the see characters on that trip other than character meals.

My kids all enjoy Stitch as well, but I agree with everyone who thinks Stitch could hang out in Tomorrowland, not to mention we already get breakfast with him. I hope Marie finds a home somewhere at Disney World soon.

One thing I like is that it seems that Marie is huge at Tokyo Disney and the Aristocats even have a parade unit with "Scales & Arpeggios" and "Everybody Wants to be a Cat" (though I won't see that parade since it is on hiatus while I am there; I've been listening to the music from it though). I think the old-school stuff deserves the representation. Also, they seem to sell plenty of Marie merchandise, even at Target, I always see a big plush Marie on the shelf. Kids must know her at least a little.

Sad to hear this, she's one of my favorites. On our last trip there was a little girl asking a cast member about where to get one of the stuffed Marie's with the really long tail. He said they did not have them there in the Emporium and was not sure where to get one. I told the little girl and mother that I'd seen them at Epot in France for sure. The little girl was so happy. So I do think she's still popular with little kids even nowadays.

I'm so glad. I love The Aristocats. I have no children, but I always hear about how today's kids don't know much about the older Disney films or much about any pop culture beyond their own experience, for that matter (example: The Great Movie Ride). Happy to know I'm mistaken.

I'm a 90s baby and LOVED the Aristocats. I would watch that VHS at least once a week.

Sad to hear about Marie - she was my favorite Disney character for a long time - but I think it's good to switch out characters every few years. Keeps it fresh. At least I met her in September!

She moved from Epcot to MK in 2012. She will no longer be available at WDW (never has been regular at DLR).
