Marie leaving Walt Disney World?

It appears that Marie the kitten from The Aristocats will be leaving Walt Disney World as a meetable character on March 25, 2016 this Friday. Stitch will be replacing Marie at the Magic Kingdom on March 26, 2016.

Two of my daughter's favorites. She'll be devastated to lose Marie. My daughter even chose Marie as her confirmation name! She isn't anywhere else in the parks, is she?

No Marie doesn't appear anywhere else in WDW.

Looks like I will have to visit Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disney Resort in the future in order to see her again.

I don't understand why they don't just move her back to France's pavilion instead of getting rid of her all together. It made no sense for a French cat to be on Main Street anyway.

While it might not make sense, it is kinda fitting since the original film is set during the 1900's.

What a bummer! We missed her last time and aren't going down until 1/17. My oldest will be so sad.
We are putting their allowances directly on Disney gift cards so they can control their souvenir money and she picked the aristocats card.

She is the only Disney character that I had been looking forward to meeting for years. And finally encountering her last spring was totally worth it.

I hope she returns to meeting at the France Pavilion in the future hopefully along with her brothers Toulouse and Berlioz. Heck did you see the amount of Marie merchandise that can be found in France?

Not that surprising. While I like Aristocats, it is not considered an all-time classic by Disney. Many kids going today to Disney World have probably never watched the movie. Stinks for those who love the character, but totally an understandable decision.

Not WDW related but it appears that Marie,Toulouse, and Berlioz might possibly be meetable at Shanghai Disney since I seen a preview for Mickey's Storybook Express parade.

I don't often care for this character. Many others don't seem to either. It's still sad that ANOTHER character is leaving for a more marketable one.

I heard from one WDW visitor that Marie might return to the France Pavilion in Epcot after Aurora becomes moves from Epcot to MK at Princess Fairytale Hall now that Anna and Elsa can now be found at Norway.

As a character hunter, I understand your pain. My wife got to meet with Robin Hood and Prince John as a kid, and I've never seen them as meetable characters before. Even some of the ones I've gotten are no longer around much...Jessie from Toy Story, for example. You CAN sometimes find retired or rare characters, if you're lucky. They have spots where rare characters appear. So there's still a chance you'd spot Marie meeting elsewhere.

I really think they could use a small set aside building/rooms for rare characters. I used to love Timon from Lion King and he was available back when AK first opened. I doubt I can find him now. I mean can I still meet cinderella's step sisters and stepmom? I don't know. But if so... there should be a designated place to go (indoors) to meet with them. Prop up some soovies in that designated area... and people will be able to (and they WILL).. purchase the Marie Mug.. Marie T-shirt, etc.
