I will be first to admit, myself and DH cannot stand Jimmey Buffet...just not fans..but I REALLY want to eat here....

So do they only play Jimmey Buffet songs in there...I am curious...and looking to try it this weekend maybe...just dont want to be subjected to JB music all night

You might want to save yourself some pain and pick somewhere other than Margaritaville. ;)

Don't worry about the music and just enjoy the food.:thumbsup2

IMO you don't have to be a JB fan to eat there. :confused3 I guess it helps, but the menu is still really good bar food.

Easier said than done...I can...Dh cannot. He has a very hard time tuning out music, as he is subjected to muzac for 8hrs a day 5 days a week...so he has no tolerance for music he does not like..LOL

I didn't know there was anybody that didn't like JB, what's not to like? :confused3 I mean I don't consider his music on the same level as Mozart, or even a good rock band (ie Journey or whatever) His music is just good, bar, party around the pool/beach music. It sets a mood of fun and partying, it's not meant to be taken seriously like Mozart, or get your jam on like Journey is for me.

Although I have a wide wide range of musical interests. I like hard rock, classical, movie soundtracks etc., JB, but currently in my CD player is a CD of African Party music, I like all kinds of things.

Thats the joy of music...I dont HAVE to like it...I dont like a lot of popular band/singers that a lot of mainstream America likes..

As to why I dont like it...I just don't...I cannot relate to the music..

You're obviously not a heavy drinker/partyer then ugh? ;)

Me too, I like all different kinds of music. I want to eat at JBM too, so the food is pretty good here?

You could try eating on the Porch of Indecision. It's part of Margaritaville, has the same food, but it's outside so the music isn't loud.

Yes IMO its really good, kind of typical bar food but good quality. Volcano Nachos is great, just a huge pile of fairly good quality nachos. Cheeseburger in Paradise, a really good big cheeseburger etc., these types of foods, the best kinds of comfort foods, junk food? Whatever you call it, I call it Bar food, but its pretty high quality, we always eat there at least 2 or 3 times a visit. But I'm a pretty big JB fan so I may be a little biased.

From what I can remember, the food was pretty good. One too many margaritas I think. Honestly after a while, I didn't even hear the music. Again, one too many margaritas. :rolleyes1 All kidding aside, the food was good though. Gotta agree with Ides, the volcano nachos. Never had the burgers there. I had the Shrimp Scampi and Angel Hair pasta. :thumbsup2. Monterrey Chicken Sandwich has always been pretty good to.

Salt! Salt! Salt!

Honestly, I can't imagine you would enjoy yourself there if you don't like JB! EVERYTHING is JB focused--yes, the music and the big screen with concert/tailgating footage.

That's kind of the point of Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville- the music. I'm not a huge fan, but it's still a lot of fun and there is usually entertainers as well as a chance to worship the volcano, which is really funny. The food ain't bad either.

Sometimes Margaritaville has live bands performing but that is usually later in the evening. For example, Orange Avenue will be playing there on March 6, starting around 10pm (they're also playing the Citywalk main stage on the 4th and 5th). So if you go later on a night when there is a live band, you'll get a reprieve from non-stop Buffett tunes.

I definitely wouldn't eat in the restaurant. At lunchtime, it's pretty much all Jimmy Buffet and parrotheads on big screens. You'd only get a temporary break when the volcano blows and then it's back to Jimmy Buffet.

We love it. :)

Thanks all, we are gonna take a pass. Thanks for your opinions

I was talking to DW about this last night. She remembers other music besides just JB music. I forgot that her and the people that walk around on stilts were singing a song other than JB when it came on. She was just singing it to herself, then one guy saw her and he started. Before you know, we had a duet going on at our table :mic::mic:. They were singing: Jason Mraz "I'm Yours."
