Margaritaville was our best meal out of 7 days at Disney!

Out of Cape May, Park Fare, Rain Forest, and Chevys, we had the best service, food and prices at MV!

The server we had was fantastic! We had five kids under 7 and he brought them extra crayons, played with the parrot masks with them, informed us that refills on chocolate milk were extra, ordered one anyway and it was a huge glass compared to the little kids cup at Rain Forest. Afterwards, he was discrete about offering desert...so that we could decide if the kids would eat icecream before they started begging for it, and he let us know the gratuity was added into our check, which made me happy to add to it.

I ordered peel and eat shrimp and there were at least 12 big shrimps and the crab and corn chowder was so yummy. Everyone was happy with what they ordered and it was a super nice and relaxing time which was rare for this trip.

Rain Forest was THE WORST and the best was Kobe, the Japanese Steakhouse on 192, although expensive, but it was just dh and I and some plum wine that evening. :woohoo: :thumbsup2

:headache: Next trip is definitely going to be Univ with just the three of us. :goodvibes

Cheers!

Glad to hear you enjoyed it cause when we were there in june other than the valcanoe nachos which were great but everything else was awful but was very busy but no excuse for the bad service

I love Margaritaville...it's a great place with great food!

Sounds like you all had a great dinner at Margaritaville :) We had dinner at that one once back in 2005 and we thought it was pretty good. They had people walking around making balloon animals and they made a flower for me that I could wear on my wrist , very cool. We ate at the Margaritaville in Myrtle Beach SC and I wasn't as impressed with it but I would return to the one at City Walk.

Sorry to be a downer, but objectively MV is good but not great. It's best for margaritas (duh) and escapism....the food is nothing special.

To each their own, and if you have a great experience that makes your trip, then good for you...

I love Margaritaville's food too!! And I diagree that it's "nothing special"...I know a lot of places at Disney that are "nothing special"

i agree that m'ville is not that good cause there are other places that are way better and glad you liked it though cause always great to hear how much someone likes USO.:thumbsup2

Glad you guys liked it. We are in the camp of "just OK food". We actually think it is a lot of fun. Kids loved the balloons - great atmosphere, but when we went last year, we had to wait over an hour (with priority seating). They botched some orders and the food came out cold. We would keep going but for us, that is not worth the wait.

Great thing about dining is that everyone should try everything for themselves and if they like it, great.

MV is our least favorite of the Universal restaurants. We've given it three tries now.

But, hey, different strokes for different folks!!! It was the lousy food at Disney and the "rumors" about good food at Uni that made us try it. We quickly converted, lol.

Don't get me wrong; we still love WDW, but we only go for the parks during the day. For meals (well, dinners at least) and "nightlife," Uni is our new home.

But don't talk about this too loudly! We don't want to have to make ressies six months out at Uni ;)

Hope you enjoy all the other restaurants! They're all really, really good :)
