Tell me about Margaritaville. We just booked 4 nights after our Disney stay. Hoping to relax before heading home.

I walked around the Resort when it first opened and keep checking for discounts. Especially when I realized the MResort and Sunset Walk Promennade was the only nearby location last year that actually had fireworks July 4... I live almost across the street from WDW in Celebration and Disney didn’t have any fireworks for July 4 or for NYE but Margaritaville Resort area has scheduled many events.
I also remeber the resort had very nice Charter Bus parked in the entry circle drive... not sure if it offers transport currently to WDW and Universal Studios... I think they also have live entertainment in their restaurants. I loved the theming in the lobby and music....def have to be a Jimmy Buffet fan ! A 5 minute walk or their shuttle takes you to the nearby Sunset Walk Promenade and the H2OLive WaterPark...that I love. Also a Studio Movie Grill Theatre and Target Publix. I always drive thru the area as I leave Target to take the back way home to Celebration cause I love all the bungalow style homes that have been built and the names of the streets to dream & wish I would win lottery.
Hopefully I will be able to stay for July 4 or NYE eventually. I would have to add it to my favorite places beyond WDW and Universal for holidays year round.. I currently have added GaylordResort also.So much to do and explore with or without money.
I think you will have a very nice visit!

p.s Last summer, the H2OLive WaterPark had Friday night big screen movies to watch as you floated in water or sat poolside. This WaterPark does not look like much when you drive past but has a lot inside! Lazy River, water slides wave pool adult pool with Bar and a great children’s area separated with 2 sides / activity area. So lots of family seating near the water to keep an eye on activity but they have excellent lifeguards.
Also love they have new ultraviolet water filtration system .Makes the water feel so good and I never have skin burning itching drying feeling.
Currently have a sale for tickets that you could purchase online.
They also have an extended season Ithink last year it extended up til Thanksgiving. In case anybody wants to consider AP with return visit to area.

It is a timeshare. It belongs to the Wyndham family, so you may be hit up to attend a timeshare sales meeting.

we have a reservation in one of the cottages in October as well as one for Disney. We can’t decide so it would be nice to hear from anyone that has stayed at Margaritaville. We have never stayed off property.... hence the two reservations until we make up our mind.

I would like to read more about other people's experiences in staying at Margaritaville. Thinking about staying there for our Discovery Cove/Seaworld days. All of these places are new to me.

I've stayed there three times and LOVED it. Everyone is so nice, the resort is clean, and it's a great location. You can see the fireworks from Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios (when running) from the balconies. The pool is great and they often have live music. You can walk to the little village there to eat/shop. It is very close to the Target that you can go to for Disney shopping. It is also very close to Animal Kingdom. We like to stay a couple of days here before getting into the Disney bubble and transferring to our Disney Resort.

Thanks for this. We are going in January with a group of 6 for Marathon Weekend. We have rooms currently at Shades of Green but I was pretty disappointed in it last time with continued cutbacks from COVID. There really aren't many perks left to staying on site, so I'm thinking about just pulling the trigger on one of the 3 bedroom cottages. Were you in the hotel or one of the cottages?

We stayed in the resort eat time. The cottages are really close and big. I liked the idea of staying in the resort to be closer to the pool and to be able to view the Disney fireworks. But I've been in the cottages and they are really nice and spacious.

We stayed in a 4 bedroom premium cottage in April, with a private pool. It was super clean and there was plenty of room for us to spread out. The resort itself was packed and we went there once for lunch. The Sunset Promenade was great for options for dining etc. If you have any specific questions I am happy to answer them.

Hi there -- one follow up question for you -- was the resort family-friendly or geared more toward adults?

Honestly I think it could go either way. We were there with our children but we were in one of the rental cottages and really didn’t use the resort at all. We went over to the resort to rent bikes once but that was it. We enjoyed the Promenade where there were a couple of restaurants, stores and ice cream shops.

Just returned this is our 3rd margaritaville we’ve stayed at….prefer the margaritaville in pensacola, just seems like it needs a beach. In orlando We had an exterior room, which to me just doesn’t feel as upscale but the room inside was very nice, lobby is beautiful. Ate at the euphoria and it was good. Live nightly music by pool is nice touch. Overall quiet and comfortable room, nice bathroom.
Resort fee is crazy add on, for about same total price off property I prefer the Waldorf. Probably won’t return as I enjoy the Disney theming when I’m in the area, love the Riviera!

I would say neutral… nothing really exciting for the kids, but nothing that as I parent I’d be put off by if I was with my family. Lobby nice but not fancy to the point kids would be uncomfortable. We were just there, did not see hardly any kids or couples really mostly convention type business people. Huge pool that kids could enjoy but no slides, lazy river type thing that kids like.

We are going in 10 days, we have a 3 bedroom for 6 adults (2 parents, 2 kids and SO's), would have cost me close to $1k a night on property and I am getting it for around $400 per night, we will have a car. We've never stayed off-property, but I can't justify the Disney prices when I am footing the bill. I'll miss being immersed in the Disney bubble, but we are commando park goers, so I don't think it will be that impactful.

We looked at Bonnet Creek, but there weren't any 3 bedrooms available.

I'll be sure to update the group on our stay.

Now look at the good many less pricey eating places on Hwy 192 heading towards Hwy 27
Another way of saving money & getting better value food wise

How far are the cottages from the rest of the resort (water park, restaurants, etc.)?
