Mardi Gras

Thanks Flyfly,
I think we better stick to the Little Jester's Area. I do hope to go to a Ghostbusters show this time, we haven't seen that or Horror Makeup, or Sinbad, so I want to catch all those this time.

Yes, be sure and see the Horror Make-up show. It is so funny and any PG-13 humor should go right over yor kids heads. They let the express/fotl people in first (we felt so important to be ushered in first lol). Try to sit front and center.

Tampa? Very cool! I live just south of you in a town just south of Sarasota. Like you, the drive doesn't stop me from going so often!! :)

TigerLilly's Mom - yes, definitely see a Horror Makeup Show and ghostbusters Show!! :)

I'll be there on Saturday...do we want to have a possible meet for the parade? Being the friendly group of DIS'rs that we are, we know we wouldn't have to worry about grabby and drunk adults amongst us If anyone knows where the Street Breakz truck usually parks during the day, that's near where I usually stand for the parade, only more towards the center of that building.

We just got back last night from US/IOA and saw the Mardi Gras parade on Saturday 2/21. Y'all, I'm from New Orleans, so maybe I was expecting too much, but this parade is a joke. The floats are pretty authentic, but the throws...in New Orleans you leave a parade with BAGS of beads. Not those cheap little beads they were throwing either...nice, long beads. The ones that they were throwing at US would remain on the ground in New Orleans (I'm not kidding)... they were that cheap. Believe me, I'm not complaining because I didn't expect it to be "authentic", but I did expect it to not be so "cheesy". Luckily, we didn't go on this trip for the parade, so it didn't make a difference to us, but those of you who think this is what Mardi Gras in New Orleans is like...it's not. I couldn't believe how rude some people were acting for a pair of beads (okay, that does happen in N.O., too). We gave ours away to kids who were standing nearby and you would've thought we were giving away gold. People coudn't believe we were willing to part with our "jewels".

Go...enjoy the parade...but don't think that's what Mardi Gras is really like.
