Interesting lineup.

Pretty epic lineup. I'm most looking forward to Neon Trees, Thirty Seconds To Mars, Lifehouse and Ne-Yo. :cool1:

The "oldies" line-up is getting a bit stale, but a nice selection of younger acts. A lot more Friday shows this year, which is also good--I still miss the days when the parade was 7 days a week with 2 concerts per weekend.

historically, how do mardi gras events affect crowds for the full day at each park?

Who on Earth is "Pitbull?" That's who's playing when we're there.

Cuban American rapper from Miami,I think he was at Mardi Gras last year as well.I'm going to the Bands,Brew and BBQ at Sea World during the day and they have REO Speedwagon in concert at 4pm and planning on hopping over to Universal for Mardi Gras after the concert ends. Can anyone who was there last year when he was in concert tell me how the crowds were,I've been to several concerts after they changed the stage area and some crowds were fine while others like Ne-Yo felt like total mob scenes.

The festivities are at the Studios so IOA won't be affected much...if at all. The Studios will get busy towards the afternoon as people come in for the parade and concert.

IOA is generally unaffected. USF gets affected starting in the afternoon, and spiking immensely after 5pm (after 5pm passes/pass holders are hot items). The performing singer/band also does have a significant impact. Thirty Seconds to Mars, Ne-Yo, Pitbull, and Lynyrd Skynyrd (to name a few) will probably draw bigger crowds than Frankie Valli or Blake Shelton. The night Kelly Clarkson was there, 40,000 people were in USF!

Of course because I'll be in FL full time now, Huey Lewis & the News isn't part of the line up. My life. :(

Huey Lewis and the News will be at Sea World February 12 for Bands,Brews and BBQ.Maybe you can catch them there. All the eating and BBQ buffet starts around 11am and the concert is at 4pm.

I would so be there if I didn't have a different event I was attending that date.

I am VERY excited about Frankie Valli, even rearranging our schedule for staying. We have missed them at home twice this past year. We figured we would stay for the parade and some of whomever was announced, but now we are crazy thrilled. OK, maybe just me...

We will have a 2y8m old with us, she is very used to concerts but we are usually up front in seats or lawn/festival seating so she can move around. Since this is standing only, would it be better to be way in the back, by the cafe or up front so she can see? How are the crowds usually?

I think the best show I've seen so far was Heart...they rocked and sounded great!

I agree, I LOVED Heart...I also enjoyed Bret Micheals, and also Kid Rock..LOL..oh yeah, and Cyndi Lauper...she was awesome too

Honestly, I am disappointed with this years lineup...DH has interest in Foreigner..but otherwise...I think I may just skip it this year...unless the last date is a REALLY good concert!

I could go for the B-52's, Blake Shelton or 30 Seconds to Mars. My taste is all over the place. :)

Where exactly do they perform?
