Mardi Gras 2011 Lineup announced

They will perform on the concert stage that is between Rockit and Twister. You can't miss it:

We will have a 2y8m old with us, she is very used to concerts but we are usually up front in seats or lawn/festival seating so she can move around. Since this is standing only, would it be better to be way in the back, by the cafe or up front so she can see? How are the crowds usually?
I like to stand around the edge of the crowd near the Twister building. It's easy to get out if you need to get a drink or use the restroom. The crowds can be wall to wall so just be prepared.

Thanks Metro West.
Dark Maurder, I would love to see more pics of US/IoA or a link if you have them.

More questions:

~So someone could do rides while the parade was going on if they were not interested in the parade? (My husband hates them, we love them, and since I have 5 on our list, I need to have options for him.) The calendar says they close at 8 PM that night.

~How long does the concert usually last? I am assuming not a full show.

So say I would like to be up front for a concert, how early do you recommend lining up? I've never been to Mardi Gras.

Were planning to go see Pitbull btw.

The concerts usually last about an hour...sometimes longer. Once the park is closed, the attractions close as well. The only things open are the stores and restaurants around the concert area.

What kind of pics are you looking for? I have a bunch I can post.

For Pitbull I would say you'd need to get there and in your spots by no later than 6:30pm...it's going to be a madhouse that night.

I would especially like to see pics of the layout, sometimes maps can be deceiving. And Seuss landing. But really any pics would be appreciated.

Check out this thread. There are LOTS of pictures:

If you're looking for pictures of the park layouts, you might want to try Google Earth...that's about the only way I know of to get anything like that.

Universal has announced that Thirty Seconds To Mars will now be performing on April 23 for Mardi Gras. The March 19 act is to be announced.

I am either going to be at IOA for the day - either when Pitbull is in concert -sat feb 26th ...or friday feb 25th (this is the second weekend of presidents week / winter break ) when us northerners have off from school (NY)

I was thinking that saturday would be very crowded even at IOA as annual pass holders would come for the weekend and go to IOA before US for the parade and concert - although it might empty out later in afternoon if people head over to US . I have read about the crowds at HP and not happy to hear that it is all the time .

I was trying to do just IOA this time around to save money on second day ticket as well .

My kids (12 and 14 )dont care if we see theparade and concert.

suggestions ?

The one that I will like the most is Foreigner

My mom had to be up front for Chicago last year, and when I tell you she was one of 100 or more people sitting there at 4pm waiting for a concert that started at 8:30pm that is no joke.I joined her around 5:30-6pm and this was the one and only time I've ever missed the parade, the concert was good and we were right up there though.I don't think I could wait that long again. She's used to seeing the concerts at Epcot where she usually grabs up close seats waiting for an hour or two but 4 plus hours is pretty insane.

I heard for the Kelly Clarkson show a few years ago that people were lining up 10am just so they could be at the front!

Huey Lewis and the News will be at Sea World February 12 for Bands,Brews and BBQ.Maybe you can catch them there. All the eating and BBQ buffet starts around 11am and the concert is at 4pm.

Okay, so this is the best news ever. Thanks for the info! Putting this on my schedule right now. :D

Enjoyed Foreigner back in high school. Not sure if Foreigner will sound like Foreigner of yesterday as only original member left is Mick Jones.

There are about 6 other acts I would have preferred to see. :rockband:

Oh well, it's free, and probably a smaller crowd to contend with. It's all about the beads for my crew anyways party:

How much is the food at the BBQ?

At Sea World they have food booths with BBQ platters probably in the $7-$10 range or you can opt for the all you can eat Buffet which is in the pavillions area in the $14-$15 range,at least those were the prices the last 2 years. At Sea World I have to do the buffet as they have everything a BBQ buffet should have and more,at Busch Gardens they don't have the buffet, instead they have booths with BBQ from different regions of the US,like the Texas,Memphis,North Carolina booths.
