Hi all...

I figured I'd put it out there that MIB999999 and I will be at Mardi Gras tomorrow afternoon/evening and see if anyone is planning on being there and/or wants to meet up? :cool1: :thumbsup2

I know this is last minute, but what the heck! :p

MIB9's works until noon or so, so my guess is we'll be at Mythos sometime by 2 if anyone wants to join us or meet up later at MIB or for Mardi Gras.

I'd love to meet some new (new to me! :rolleyes2 )DISers and meet up with some old friends! :grouphug:

We'll check back on here tomorrow before we leave, or you can PM either of us so we can figure out when and where to meet!

I don't know if I'll get back for a couple of months, and hey, it's Hall & Oats...hope they can still perform! :rolleyes1

I'll be there from 3:30 until closing (working not partying). MIB999999 knows where to find me.

I'll be there tomorrow. This will be my first time to visit Universal Studios. We are planning to get there early in the am and stay for Mardi Gras.

I'm thinknig about hitting the parks in the evening, not sure though.

MsDis and MIB999999 went to Studio's around 3:00 pm. We rode MIB till it was time to step next door for the FEAR FACTOR show at 5. It was our first time to see this show.
MsDis and i currently have a bet going. she believes the 6 contestants are NOT park guest and i believe they are. :confused3

The show was good. there were four volunteers for the special milk shake contest. The shake consisted of sour chunky milk, worms and grubs, multi day old fish and parts from the hot dog factory that even they would not use. The winner got a plastic sipper cup each. Not on your life or mine would i drink that stuff for a sipper cup.

The Mardi Gras parade started on time and the floats were great. The parade route starts in Amity, stays to the left and heads towards Mels, then left to La Bamba, right towards the main store, at the main store right to the mummy building, right past Finnegans and the IRISH STORE and then left to exit.
It started to rain and we waited under cover in Monster Cafe. It started to let up and they were talking like any minute Hall and Oates would be out and then the rain started again. We waited around till 9:38 and it was still raining lightly and we left. Beads were plentifull and the costumes were great. it looks like they gave the old gator float a face lift. it really looks good now :smooth:

:sunny: Mahalo for the report on the festivities. We love MG time at Universal and really hate not being able to go. One of these days...but until then we count on reports and postings.
:teeth: Aloha,
Donna

You win the bet. Trust me on this one: they are really park guests. You can try out yourself. The winners win park tickets and have to supply ID, etc. It is fun to talk to them after they win. They are so excited! I especially like seeing those who are parents come in and see how proud their kids are of their dad or mom for winning.

The concert did go on although Hall and Oates did have a late start.

WOW...I'm shocked, they had six guys who all seemed pretty buff and a little too smooth...they were very quick with their answers and such and to me looked like stand-ins! I told MIB9's that I really believed from who I saw that they were "actors" but that I hoped I was wrong...of course, I HATE when I AM! :furious: Maybe if we saw it a different day it would have been more obvious to me, but they looked like cookie cutter stunt guys! :rolleyes1 I know there are other stunt shows that pretend everyone is a volunteer from the audience and then it turns out they aren't, so I'm pleased that these are truly just normal (but maybe a little crazy!) people! I stand corrected and am glad to do so! :cool1:

It had all but stopped raining by the time we left, but MIB9's had had enough and we left. I was extremely disappointed because I was really looking forward to the concert. :sad2: It's a real bummer because I probably won't get to go to any of the other concerts now either. :rolleyes2
I hope those that stayed enjoyed it. I would have, but it's a LONG walk home! :teeth:

When Fear Factor first started they didn't have a time limit on when you could compete again and one guy won 6 different times. Now they make the winners wait one year before they can compete again. I met some of the winners today. One guy was with his wife and two little kids. They were just beaming about their Dad winning.

That's a good policy because I'm sure alot of locals would (and probably did) take advantage! I've only seen the show once, so I don't know if they do the same stunts every time, but if they did, it really wouldn't be fair to have someone getting all of that "practice"!

I think if they're going to make guests sick with a nasty concoction though, maybe a souvenier cup is not quite suitable "compensation" LOL

I would rather dangle high in the air than drink what was in their shake!!! :drinking:

Thanks for giving us our answer...MIB999999 didn't even gloat....much. :rolleyes2

:rotfl2: See, now I was going to enter that contest but the contents weren't vegetarian friendly! :hippie:
