Day 3, Fri Aug 15, Part 1
Oh now this was a morning I was very much looking forward to! Out of the family, only I had been on Toy Story Mania, and I was so excited for the rest of them to try it out! Well, apparently, the night before, Chris had had delays, so he didn't get to the room until around 3am or so. So when I went to go wake the boys up, they told me they wanted more sleep and they would meet us before lunch. This threw a wrench in my TSM plan (get FP and ride together right away), so it kinda bummed me out. I told them they wouldn't get to ride, because by the time they got there, the line would be huge. We'll see how that worked out...
So anyway, my mom and I were at the MGM bus stop at 7am, and were on our way over shortly after that. Since it was so early, we were the first ones at the turnstiles. Check it out!
We spent some time chatting up the people around us, so time went a bit quicker, and before we knew it, we were let through the turnstiles and up to the rope. First at the rope too! Sweeeet! Once again, check it out!
At that point, there was a Photopass Photographer named Rusty, and we spent some time talking to him. He offered to take some pics of us, both Photopass and with my camera. Look at the crowd behind us!
We were also talking to a family that was near us, they were parents with teenage kids. Good thing we made friends, because when it came to stampede to TSM, I somehow managed to drop my tickets and stuff on the ground! Thank goodness the mom was right behind me, and picked them up and neither of us missed a beat! Phew! That was lucky!
So I was the first one at my FastPass machine, got my pair, and went straight to the line where my mom...wasn't waiting for me. She had actually gone through the line, and they wouldn't let me go meet up with her (I'm sure many of you will be happy to hear that...and don't worry, I totally understand!). So in a few minutes, I had caught up with her on the regular line, and we were off spinning and shooting! I tried to take a pic of our scores, but I wasn't quick enough. I did manage to get the screen with the ride logo on it though
After our ride, we went back toward the hat, to see if we could find Rusty again. And we did! So he got some photopass pics of us, and took a couple with my camera too. What a nice guy!
We went to head over to ride our fav, the Rock'n'Roller Coaster, of course. But alas, the single rider line was not yet open, and standby was more than we'd ever consider. So we hung out in the RnR store for a bit, and by now it was 8:40am. We wanted to get another set of FP, but obviously, it wasn't time yet. So, we walked around a bit, went through some shops, and basically killed time until about 9ish. At which point, I grabbed a pair of FP for Tower of Terror. Sweet!
Now, I had heard rumors that the Dream Team liked to hang around in One Man's Dream, so we headed in that direction, and went in right after it opened. I really like this exhibit. I took a picture of Dumbo
We hung around for a bit, but decided it wasn't worth it to spend too much time there. So when we had seen everything we wanted to, we left. By this time we figured we'd check out the RnR single rider line again, as they had told us it would open around the time they started taking return FastPasses. So we went on over, and yup, it was up and running! Wahoo! The song we got was a Love in an Elevator/Walk this Way combo. Red neck shots...first me, then mom!
By now, it was just before 9:30am, and to my surprise, I received a call from Stephen that they had just walked into the park! I really didn't expect them until at least 11, so it was a nice surprise. At this point, I made the executive decision...that the boys needed to ride Toy Story Mania...with mine and my mom's FastPasses! That's right. You read that correctly. We *gave* the boys our second ride. Now, this was a bit of a sacrifice for me, as I had already warned them that if they didn't come with us, they wouldn't get to ride it at all. But well, I decided to be a nice sister. Because I really wanted them to be able to experience it.
So me and mom just kinda hung around the area while the boys rode. We probably visited the ladies' room, and I know how exciting that is! You want to read all about it! Just kidding, of course! They were out pretty quick, as the FP line really hadn't had a chance to build yet. And of course, they were hungry. Cause they're boys. And they need to eat 24/7 it seems! So I sent them over to Starring Rolls to pick up some breakfasty stuff, while I went ahead with all of our tickets to get FP for RnR. That line (the bakery!) took forever! Longer than it took me to get the FP, that's for sure.
Once we met up, me and Chris decided to use the pair of FP we had gotten for ToT. My mom was fine with not riding again, as was Stephen. They said they weren't such huge fans, and once a trip was enough. Well, not for me! Or Chris, as it were. We got front row, check us out!
The boys decided that they wanted to see the Indy show, while mom and I didn't feel like it. I've seen it so many times, and I did see it on my last trip, so I was absolutely fine with not seeing it again. We had a bit of a time conflict though, as the show started at 11am and went to 11:30ish, and our ADR for 50's PTC was at 11:25am. Good thing that Indy show is pretty much right next door to the restaurant! So we just told the boys to meet us there as soon as they got out. Wasn't a problem whatsoever.
But while the boys saw Indy, me and mom had some time to kill, once again. We decided to head over to the Animation building, just to check it out, since I don't remember ever going in there. We were going to do the drawing show thing, but the timing didn't work. So we checked out Sorcerer Mickey's line, but that was too long, so we just walked around. I found WALL-E. Never saw the movie, I still need to do that.
Took some other pics as we walked around
Then we went to head over to the 50's, and on the way, the High School Musical Show was going on. Now, I've never seen these movies, I know nothing about them. I just know little kids go ga-ga over them. So since we had a few minutes to spare, we watched a bit. Twas cute enough.
Mom and I got to the 50's a few minutes before 11:25, and checked in, and told them the boys weren't there yet. It really wasn't busy, since it was so early, so they just told us to tell them when the boys arrived. Which we did. We knew David was off this day, so we didn't bother heading to the bar

.
We were seated shortly after 11:30, and Brenda was our server. I knew to set the table, and she was impressed. Yeah, I've been here a few times

. Here we are!
Stephen and Mom
Chris and Me
Food and drinks ensued, we all enjoyed it, as usual. See dining review for more details! At the end of the meal, the boys wanted to do shots...so they went to the bar and I ran after them with the camera
While we were gone, Brenda had brought over a cupcake for my mom, and since we were missing in action, she waited til we got back to do the celebration...which meant the whole restaurant sang Happy Bday to my mom! It was so funny!
Once we were done with lunch, our RnR FP weren't up yet, so we all decided to go on single rider. As you know, I love that single rider line! Good times! These red neck shots didn't come out all that well, so I won't bother to post them. Suffice to say, we all made funny faces as usual
After riding, we were ready to head back to Pop for a rest. We were at the bus stop at 1:25, and my head hit the pillow before 2pm. I, of course, took a nap, while the boys and my mom spent some time in the pool. While I was sleeping, the boys had decided to take a cab to the liquor store to pick up some booze...they were being economical. And at the end of the trip, they figured out that they had easily made up their money. Ha, and we had 2 half bottles of liquor left to leave with our next fridge swapper. I found out they had gone from my mom when I woke up. They were even back before my mom and I headed over to Epcot later that afternoon. So they were pleased with themselves.
next up: late afternoon/evening in Epcot
