Day 7, Tues Aug 19, Part 2
Okay, so we left the boys to their beer in Epcot, and my mom and I headed over to Animal Kingdom. Let me just tell you, that was so the way to go! There was NO ONE there!!! We arrived at AK around 3:30, and got some photopass pics, of course, donning our ponchos.
What was our first stop? And our second, and third??? Expedition Everest, of course!!! That's right...we went on Everest...3 times in a row, it was a walkon all 3 times. Could not ask for more! We sat in the back, the middle, and the front. Here are our first 2 red neck pics, haha, I posed and made funny faces.
And here are some pics from the front row!!!
Aaaaand, our final redneck picture.
My mom still hadn't seen the Nemo show, so I figured we should probably do that. There was a show starting at 4:45, and since I've heard you should get there really early to get a decent seat (I've been before myself, but arrived last minute and was lucky to find a seat waaaaay in the back), we arrived at 4:15. And we really could have arrived much later...like I said...no one was at AK! We were in the middle, we had our choice of seats. I really like this show, and my mom ended up enjoying it too, so I was glad.
Lovely!
At some point, we stopped for pics with Everest in the background. Maybe before we went on the ride? Eh, I dunno. Photopass coming up!
Okay, so after Nemo, we went to see It's Tough to be a Bug. Mom had never seen it. I *think* this may have been my first time seeing it too...no, that's a lie! I saw it back in May, so nevermind! Haha, yeah, I have a great memory! Anyway, it's a cute show, and I love the "interaction" that occurs. I won't go into specifics, just in case you haven't been...I want you to be surprised! It's a good time. Might be scary for little ones, but I wouldn't really know. Use your own discretion.
At this point, I was getting a little chilly. Somehow, this was the one day I forgot to bring a long sleeve shirt in my bag. I think I wore the one I packed the night before, and just forgot to replace it. Buggers! So we decided to do a little shopping, and I picked up a really nice AK Mickey shirt. You'll see me wearing it in the pictures to come.
We wanted to hit the Lion King show, since my mom really liked it when she saw it, and even though I've seen it many many times, I can't get enough! So there was a show at 6:30, which would end right when the park closed, at 7. We went over to Camp Minnie Mickey with a little time to spare, and I noticed that none of the characters had any lines!!! Oh my goodness, I couldn't pass it up! A couple of the handlers made me take off my poncho, but a couple didn't. Weird! But the interaction was awesome!
Minnie
Goofy
just me being funny before seeing Mickey
the big cheese himself, Mickey gave me a biiiig hug!
and he blushed a bit when I asked about Minnie
and last but not least, Donald
I was on cloud 9! I felt so lucky, I couldn't believe it!
It was then time to see the Festival of the Lion King, which I absolutely adore. Just a few pics
love those tumble monkeys!
Ah, it was so awesome, as usual!
Once the show let out, it was time to leave, as the park was closed. We headed to the buses, to catch the bus to the Poly, since we were having dinner at Ohana. Yum Yum, great dinner!
After dinner, we took the monorail over to the MK to catch a bus back to Pop. Once we got there, it was after 10, and I still needed to check with the front desk about the fridge. Yeah, it still hadn't arrived. And we were leaving the next day. I was not thrilled.
Anyway, I went back to the room and got all packed up, since we needed to get up in the morning to drop off our stuff before heading to our last day of parks.
next up: checking out, MK morning
