MARCHing like Mulan - Exercise Challenge

25 minutes since my last post (more mini-trampoline and, unfortunately, shoveling again)

Total to now = 215/620.

Good Morning.

I originally set the goal of us becoming Purple Power as a team by the end of the day Friday and I think I totally underestimated us as a team. Here it is only Wednesday morning and we're already at 44.90%

Only 1,212 minutes to meet our next goal!

I think we're going to blow the Friday deadline out of the water!!!

Congratulations to a couple of fine folks who have made it to Purple Power:
DisneyBelle99
General Admiral Strife

Way to go!!! Our first post is becoming more and more purple by the day.

Quote of the week: Code Red, repeat: we're at Code Red! Recon plan Charlie: Execute! Let's move, move, move, move, move! - Sarge from Toy Story

*note - I have to take a brief and unexpected business trip to Lynchburg, VA. I'll try to stay in touch but I may be out of the loop until Friday. Meanwhile, I'll be the crazy lady walking laps in the Philadlephia airport during my 2.5 hr lay over. I decided that airports really should have indoor tracks.

180 minutes running outside and 120 minutes of walking brings me to 695/1000.

Keep up the good work everyone -- lots of time left in March! :thumbsup2

Ugh...sorry about the shoveling.

I wish they did. That would be so much better than sitting around just waiting...

Wow, way to go!

My exercise update: 505/930! I'm Purple!!! 3/17 - 60 min

Congrats!

Another 35 minutes running for me, brings me up to 571/1500

100 minutes walking around downtown while on my lunch break for jury duty.
Keep up the good work everyone!

Sorry I've been absent for a few days but I caught up with all that's been going on.
I had a great race in DC. It rained cold rain the whole race but I love running through in the area of so much history. I ran the Navy/Airforce 1/2 last fall so I thought I knew what to expect in road conditions. Mile 5-6 in the race was BRUTAL. They knew how to inspire me. They called it the Blue Mile of remembrance. The whole mile was lined with posters of servicemen who had died in combat and American flags. I kept saying I had to stay strong because they stayed strong. I even came out with a new PR at the end.

After the race we decided to walk to our hotel instead of waiting in line for the metro. Somehow I didn't notice we were 3 miles away so I have more minutes to report. :)

I don't think the Maring Corps Marathon follows the same course, but I'm not really sure. Other that that one hill it was manageable.

Catching up min reporting
Race 163 min
Walking 60 min
Mon morning run 30 min
Elliptical Mon night 45 min
41 min run this morning
791/1200
Thanks for hosting Hmack. You are a great cheerleader :cheer2:

Thank you for the feedback on your race! I'm even more inspired to sign up for the 10k this fall now. Of course after just mile one on my run this morning, I was thinking, why on earth do I do this again!? It was just one of those runs.

So... 30 min for me today.

505/1260

12 minutes yesterday (walking) & 75 minutes today (walking & running) puts me at 639/1000

I've been very "all or nothing" this month - either I do nothing (or very little) or a lot - I haven't been doing a "medium" amount of exercise on any day

I didn't get a chance to update yesterday, so I did 60 minutes of cardio yesterday and today I did 30 minutes of strength training and 30 minutes of cardio.

515/930

hey, hey, hey

catching up a bit -
yesterday 43 minutes of airport walking (no moving sidewalks for this girl!)
today: a bit of walking around the Sweet Briar Campus and an early morning run. - 54 minutes

I am expecially impressed with my run because I didn't get to the Inn on campus until arond 12:30 a.m. and I still got up at 6:30 p.m. after very little sleep and ran 3.61 miles.

so that brings me to 696/1000

Mrs. Ar - I'm so glad to hear from you. I've been so curious to hear about the race. And WOW - that must have been one powerful mile. Thanks for sharing.

Alrighty - I'm writing to you from D.C. after a whirl-wind day.

So I had set a goal of getting to Purple Power by Friday, and what did you all do? You COMPLETLY BLEW THAT GOAL OUT OF THE WATER!!

MARCHing like Mulan is not only officially purple - BUT we did it a whole day ahead of our goal!

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Individual congratulations go out to:
lisah077
pixiegirl131415
dglilbit
Mrs Ar
and Whitney250

And - as if that wasn't enough excitement for one day we have our first Mushu approved Maroon member:
Trith

Phew. I got into the hotel at Sweet Briar at 12:30 a.m., I ran this morning, worked a college fair, rode for three hours to DC, tried to counsel my kiddo through a break-up long-distance, basked in all of your awesomeness and now I'm tuckered out. I have no idea what time I have to get up for my flight tomorrow, but I bet it's early.

Saturday morning we will return to our regularly scheduled programing.

p.s - 51.81% = you guys are an amazing team!!

I fell of off the wagon, but got back to it last night - 70 minutes zumba!

390 / 1000

Put me down for 45 min of yoga and core work this morning pre-vacation!!!

550/1260
(Pretty sure I negated that hard work though with my Bloody Mary on the plane. Haha)
