We've never cruised before and are thinking about doing the DCL Eastern 7-Day in March 2005 (3/05/05 - 3/12/05) for our first cruise ever. We're wondering what the weather should be like this time of year, and if anyone knows of any downside to these dates.

So, is this a good time to go? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

my family and i just booked that same cruise! hope you decide to go. i don't know the march weather but i know it's not hurricane season!

We did the March 6th Eastern this year.
The weather imho was great.
It was a bit rough on the trip from St. Maarten to CC but nothing that had people throwing up everywhere.
CC was nice. The water was a tad cool but once in no problem. St. Maarten and St. Thomas were wonderful and had a peeling scalp after losing my hat on the sailboat as proof ;)
I wouldn't be concerned in the least.
We did the 3 day Wonder the March prior to that and the weather was great too.
We are already booked for the March 12th Western next year so it sure hasn't put us off :)

Cheers,
Grumbo

I have learned my lesson about weather expectations. We cruised this past March and hit 30 foot seas. We heard that it was very unusual.

My advice? Hope for the best but plan for the worst. Meaning that we probably should have had 'the patch' in case the Bonine that we took didn't work, or something like that. We still had a good time in spite of the rocking and rolling :earseek: .

We were on the same cruise as Gumbo this March and the weather was great, but not as hot as the same week last year. We cruised in January in 2001, and the temps were even hotter! Guess you just cant tell! Nat:Pinkbounc
