March vs. August

What's the weather like March as oppose to the brutal heat of August. Right now these are the two months we're debating going in. I've been in August before and can handle the heat but the rest of my family really can't. But is it too cold in mid-March? Will we still be able to swim and do water parks comfortably....what are the temperatures like. Also, I like the small crowds of mid-late August and I checked the Spring Break thread, the week we'd be going is somewhere in the middle of the votes as far as when people's SB's are so I hope it's not overcrowded then....because we're leanign towards March.

I've done enough August trips to know that I will never ever go in August again. I don't much like to think about going in August.

March sounds lovely. Can't predict the weather, but it shouldn't be cold-cold.

I don't get how people can go and enjoy August...God Bless those of you who can.

March is a nice time to go.

Augest would awful. Humidity levels are insane. It can be 90 degrees outside with 75% humidity (However, the humidity makes it feel 75-80 degrees because your so drenched with sweat.).

March on the otherhand is a coin toss, it could be cool or warm. Nights would be nice if you dont mind the bugs (which would be worst in Augest anyways.). Early March, if you time it right, would be 60 degree wether. In the same month; or next day for that matter, it could be 80 degrees.

March is a much nicer time of year to go to WDW. Much nicer than Augest.

We went the second week of March once. The weather happened to be a lot cooler than I expected (mid to upper 60s) and a bit rainy. Although it could have gone the other way just as easily. What surprised me was that it was a lot more crowded than I thought it would be, even with spring break (and Easter was in April that year). It seemed that WDW must have marketed very heavily in other countries, as there were tons of Japanese and Indian tourists there at that time. Still though, I would definitely go in March over August, which is way too hot, humid and hurricane-y for me.

March can really go either way - warm, low 80's, or downright cold. Either way it is almost always tolerable. August - it is only going to be hot, humid, and nasty.

I refuse to go during the summer, period. We had our last scheduled trip in June for the PPP, made a surprise trip to see the Northwestern guys in July, and won't be back til temps cool off in October :)

We have never had a hard time fitting swimming into our March schedule. Our March trips always tend to fall at the end of the month so there may be a difference between the beginning and the end of March. We pretty much always wear tank tops and shorts during the day and capris and t-shirts and maybe a light sweater at night. We went last August and it was the first time in 10 years that we were there in August- I then quickly remembered why we don't go at that time-it was so stinkin' humid and hot!!! I would rather deal with crowds of March than the heat and humidity of August.

Being a school teacher, I have had to go to WDW in Aug. with my family. ( I just got back from another hot and crazy trip.) I have also had the blessing to go in Sept., Oct. , Dec. and March . While March was a bit cool, that was far better than hot as hell!!!!!! Go in March! Everytime I go in Aug. I swear I will never do it again. Your famiy will be much happier, trust me.

We've been on spring break in March several times, but now that's not possible due to my DS's baseball schedules, so this summer we went in July-August. We have never hesitated to swim in March, we've done water parks, etc. Yes, August is hotter and I suppose that makes it better swimming weather, but March is DEFINITELY more comfortable. I think it's also more crowded, but that's ok.

my family and I have been in august and it wa svery hot. we just went in March and loved it. the weather was cool in the morning and night. and warm during the day. we are going in sept. because of free dinning. I would choose March.

You will probably be able to swim. I've swum in January and March is warmer. But there have been a couple January mornings (like 5:30, 6:00) where I decided it was too cold to bother...pool would be warm enough, but I'd freeze my buttinski off getting out.

Unless it were and freaky unseasonably cold day, I'd be swimming in March.

thanks for the opinions, that link was helpful......yea it seems like March is a much better choice lol
