Can you enjoy pools/water parks in March? Is it to hot to enjoy the park in June? I figure the crowds will be the same. I would have to take kids out of school for 4 days as I want to go for 2 weeks so thats something else to consider.... help!

March weather, while usually nice, is unpredictable. some days you might need a jacket during the day because it is quite cool, while other days have temps in the high 80's. With a two week stay, though, you should definitely have days that are warm enough to swim.

Crowds will be similar to summer, except for the week before and after Easter. If your break falls during those times, crowds will be much higher.

If you are going around Easter, the parks will be crowded. Some schools are out the week before and some are out the week after Easter so if those are your two weeks in March, I would say go in June. We went the third week in June this year and while it wasn't empty, it wasn't anywhere near as crowded as I expected. People seemed to spread out to their resorts and the other activities WDW has to offer with longer hours and the heat. Swimming is practically a must in the summer months since parks, with all their concrete and people, get extremely hot mid-day. We loved our trip last June. With really small children (3 and 6), we got less done than our February trip but we enjoyed the pools way more. It was a great trade off.

We really like March for the great weather. We did one and only one June trip. It's hot and humid and not pleasant for exploring theme parks IMHO. We salvaged the June trip with a beach day and lots of time at the resort swimming pool and waterparks. // Everyone is different, but pleasant weather is a big deal to us for vacation, and that means I've done numerous spring break trips, but just one summer trip. And our only reason that we even tried summer was the fact that DH had a convention at the Contemporary, so we'd have freebie accommodations for four nights. Next time he had a summer convention, though, FYI we skipped coming along and opted for a better time weather wise.

So I'm thinking of going the 5th-19th easter isn't until 27th . Anyone know when Orlando spring break is?

March is horrible - the birthdays of my son and I both land in the middle of the month, so we have been there a few times that time of the year. Never again. I would choose almost any other time of the year.

I think March 5-19 would be super. We've only been once in March and once in June, but March was much less crowded. Now, we managed to be there for a record high in March (and once in April too--lucky us!! Ugh), but March weather was much better. I would think rates would be better then too.

We were there mid-March of this year and LOVED it. We swam every day. Found crowds to be completely manageable with a good plan. We will be going in June for the first time next year due to school schedules/a desire to see SWW. Waiting to see how it will compare.

During the height of spring break it will be more crowded than June. We've gone at both times and there is a big difference.

But the weather in March is usually lovely, June will be brutally hot. We have done several water park and pool days in March. I can only remember a couple of days that it might have been too cool.

So, the choice is really between hot or crowded. Go with which ever you think you can best tolerate.

With those dates, you'll miss the Easter crowds, and your crowds shouldn't be any worse than over summer. But, the weather will be much, much better, which always seems to make the crowds more tolerable. I think Orange County schools start their break on March 21, but not sure about other school districts nearby.

We have gone mid-March for several years (never at Easter time, however), and crowds are comparable to summer.

Generally it is warm enough for swimming, but one year there was a cold spell, and the highest temperature we saw was 72. But the resort pools are heated, so it is still quite comfortable as long as you stay in the water.

We much prefer March weather to summer. As a PP said, crowds are much more tolerable when the weather isn't brutal.

We went his year second week in June and it was awful. Crazy hot and humid and just as busy as spring break. Last year we did spring break Easter week, while crowded the weather made it better. We will never go back in June again, I would go with March.

I will never go in the summer again. We went this past March and the weather was beautiful! We only had 1 bad weather day in the entire week, which it was cool and rainy, but the rest was hot and sunny. It was a nice break from Canada winter. We are going again for 2 weeks this coming March and can't wait. I

We have to make the same choices and we pick summer.
We made our March trip (DGD's birthday month) before she started school. We happen to hit a year that was extremely cold (for FL). Like it got below freezing at night cold. Day times were sweatshirt weather cold.
We don't mind summer all that much. I find it quite manageable but we are from the South so the heat is nothing new to us

I live in AZ so we do know hot, but generally try to vacation OUT of the heat for the summer lol but we do want to do beach days and water activities so I'm still in limbo, lots of great albeit conflicting advice ha! I guess we have a rough life when our biggest decision is if to go to WDW in March or June eh?

Yep, that's one of the "First World Problems" issues.
Personally, our schools make is so very hard to miss we simply can't even consider time away from school. That alone makes our decision for us

Something else to consider, while yes it's hot in June you have pretty long park hours too. It's fairly easy to hit the parks early, leave mid day for a swim or hit up a water park and then return to the parks for the night time stuff. And still get everything done.

But, if you go during March it's possible you'd hit Flower and Garden festival (I haven't looked at the schedule for it for 2016). If you can time it so you are there for that, I probably would give the nudge to March. We may have hit a very cold snap but I loved the F&G stuff. DH and I will go back this year, we'll just have to go without DGD due to school.

Just one thought to share. We went once in March and will never do it again.

We ended up there for 8 days, 6 of which were near record lows. Layers, fleece, long pants the entire trip. I don't like being COLD on a WDW trip. No chance that we could have gone swimming.

All of this said, those weren't TYPICAL temps, but we decided we did not want to chance that again.

We're doing our longer WDW in Aug next year -- most crowd calendars have it looking less crowded than June, and kids still won't miss school.

Hope you have an AWESOME time, whenever you choose to go!! :)

My family and I have been to WDW in March a number of times, both before, during and after Easter. We have always found the weather to be very pleasant to very hot, and have spent a great deal of time in the pools.

That being said, we're coming from a climate where the average daily high temperatures in March are still in the high 30's, and it's 50/50 whether it's still snowing, so anything over 65 is definitely shorts, t-shirt and swimming pool time for us, and anything over 70 means it's time to turn on the air conditioning.
