March or June? Booking secrets?

I would also double check some of those prices with the kids fly free & $150 gift card....I plugged some numbers in on the DL website with that, and they inflate the prices BIG TIME to do those 4 nights. I think I plugged in 4 nights at the DL hotel (kids fly and play free AND the gift card) and it was $2300 or something like that....3 nights was over a thousand dollars less! Now I know 1 night at the Disneyland Hotel and $150 gift card does not equal $1,000! And I know with the kids fly free you are paying for the most expensive flights. It never seems like the best deal for me.

The $1000 probably has more to do with the flights then the hotel. One day difference can greatly change availability of cheap flights. I checked a bunch of sites for the best price- Disney, AAA, getaway today, travelocity, expedia (I have $150 credit with them), and orbitz. Disney travel gave me the best rates for the days I wanted. But, the key to getting them is to research flights elsewhere first. When I blindly put in dates I was getting really high prices. When I looked on travelocity and found cheap flights, and used those days, times airport and airline on the disney site I got the best deal. ( Travelocity has a flight search option that will show you the cheapest flights for a block of time.)

I ended up with kids fly free, which I know typically is the full price fares, but I lucked out. Its only about $600 for all 4 of us, from Seattle. The hotel (candy cane ) and park hoppers are $822. That is 4 nights hotel- which to book on my own would have been $400 plus tax. And 3 day park hoppers for all of us. For us, time is an issue. We dont have 3-4 extra days that we can spend driving down and back.

When you say OC, do you mean Oregon City? That's where I live!!! :teeth: You don't come across that often here on the DIS. I live in the older McLoughlin District.

The OC is Orange County. So I've made many trips south since I've lived in Oregon. We live in the Scappoose area so we're just on the other side of the Portland.
