We are trying to decide on the date for our first trip to Disney. Any advice on March or April? We have school aged children and will be taking them out of school and would like to avoid the busiest time. Feb is an option too I guess. We're open to suggestions. Thanks!

Welcome to the Dis!

Oh, this one is sooo easy for me. MARCH :) . We have been to DW six different trips and I will never forget our first 2 trips in March. The weather was absolutely PERFECT, high 70's and swimming was beautiful every day. We then had to start going school vacations in April and what a difference one month made, it became considerably hotter and more uncomfortable for me. So I am so jealous you have the opportunity to go in March. I dream of going back in that month when the kids move out some day!!! Have an awesome first trip! :earsboy:

I would make sure not to plan your trip over spring break. When Disney says peak season they mean PEAK season.

We've gone the past 2 years during late April/early May. This past year, the weather was cooler than 2004 & we were actually chilly in the a.m. & once the sun went down we needed long pants in the evenings. Once the days warmed up, swimming was great, but the days when we hit the water parks at 10 a.m., the water was coooold. I can't imagine swimming there in March, but that just might be me. I get cold easily & I like the sun warm with warm pool water.
