On April 17, 2004, I will be participating in the March of Dimes Walk America. I sent an email to Webmaster Pete asking if I could post some information and a request for sponsors on the Community Board. I knew that soliciting wasnt allowed, but wasnt sure about asking for sponsors. Webmaster Pete replied that I could post, if I did two things
(1) mention that I asked for and received permission from him to make the post, and (2) let folks know that ALL contributions must be made payable to the organization, which is the March of Dimes.
If you are interested in sponsoring me, please visit my WalkAmerica webpage at http://www.walkamerica.org/gdulaney or if youd like to send me a check (payable to the March of Dimes), please PM me and Ill be glad to give you my address.
Your support helps fund:
-Research into stress and other factors that may trigger preterm labor.
-Programs to educate pregnant women to recognize the warning signs of preterm labor.
-Tools to help health care providers find better ways to detect women who may be at risk for preterm labor.
Premature birth is the leading cause of new born death in the first month of life. It affects 1,305 babies a day in the United States. Those who survive may have lifelong health problems. And premature births are on the rise -- up to 27% since 1981.
That is why I am asking for sponsors. Because premature birth can happen to any pregnant woman. In nearly half the cases, the causes are unknown. The March of Dimes is leading the way to find answers by supporting research into the causes of premature birth. I am joining the fight, and so can you. If I can answer any questions, please PM me.
Thank you!
Ginny
