March Check-In Thread!

Our first time doing RSR and WOC too!

I love DLR's versions of POTC and Space. I bet I am gonna love the new and improved Big Thunder too.

Looking forward to meeting Olaf and the Freeze the Night party.

The only corn dogs I eat are the ones at Corn Dog Castle or Little Red Wagon...haven't had one in nearly six years. Can't wait! And never eat any churros other than DLR's either (don't let anyone tell you that WDW's churros are comparable!). Mint juleps are another tradition, will be sipping one at Blue Bayou in a few days now!

I have so many must dos with food that I have run out of days. My DH insists on In-n-Out, the only place I could slot it in was on the way to our hotel from the airport, LOL.

Speaking of which, anyone have experience with the Patina restaurants? Do you have a favorite between Catal, Tortilla Jo's and Naples?

I saw that in the weather reports, too :guilty:. I was hoping for mild weather!!! We need to do a rain dance and bring the temps down! Even worse, Splash Mountain and Grizzly River Run are closed! I didn't care much before but now I'm annoyed since it will be so hot!

Glad I am not the only one! I agree that I didn't get too worked up about Splash and GRR (though we LOVE GRR) until today's forecast change.

Splash & GRR have both been closed the last two times I've been to the park! I've never been in grr, and haven't been on splash in like 23 years :(

GRR is such a fun ride! I was disappointed that it was going to be down during this trip, but then figured it may not be hot enough to want to ride it anyway. HA! Not the case now. Boo. Our two park days are expected to have highs of 89 and 83 degrees!

I hope the forecast is off... Our whole trip was supposed to be thunderstorms & we caught a half hour of rain tops! It stressed me out the week before our trip though! That, combined with a scaffolded & tarped castle & refurbished rides. Turned out the castle was uncovered, weather was great (and because of the reports, low crowd bonus!) closed down rides were the only downside & there were plenty of others to make up for them. Hope your trip is as pleasant of a surprise

Thanks, I hope so too!

When I logged on last night, it jumped past some comments. Annoying.

Never eaten at the patina restaurants but I know that you can go to their site and sign up for their email list and you get a coupon when it's close to your birthday. I want to eat at Tortilla Jo's at some point this trip! I've wanted to try it every trip and have never gotten to. We've always done Rainforest Cafe, which is super fun but the food is average.

We have eaten at Naples and Tortilla Jo's. I know some people love Tortilla Jo's, but I hated my meal (about 5 years ago). I had shrimp something and the shrimp were not seasoned and it was such a bland meal. I wont go back. Naple's we love!

Thanks both of u for the Patina opinions. Yes, my husband has a $30 birthday coupon burning a hole in his pocket. :)

I don't like Via Napoli at Epcot much (also owned by Patina and similar to Naples in menu), but I will look over the menu again. It seems like a shame to eat at Tortilla Jo's when there is really great, authentic and cheap Mexican food nearby, LOL, and that is holding me back!

If we do get to eat at Tortilla Jo's, it will probably be at the taqueria.

I will say that of the trip reports I've read, as well as on the food porn thread, that Tortilla Jo's used to get bad reviews but all the recent reviews I've read have been positive. And apparently the table side guacamole is amazing.

The weather forecast is making me cry. It is going to be in the 90s. I hate hot weather. :(. I hate sweating. I don't wear shorts. Darn it.

Yeah, I feel you. I leave on Thursday and I am NOT happy about the weather forecast. What's even more annoying is that all the blistering hot weather will be on all the days I am there and then cool off again right after I leave. The last time I was there in October it was unusually hot too, and I didn't do very much because I just did NOT want to move. I hate heat when I have to walk around in it. I don't visit during the summer for a REASON.

About a week ago the forecast said that it was supposed to RAIN on Friday...then about a day or two later the forecast showed bright sunshine and 150,000 degrees. :p Hopefully they're WRONG about this too and it won't end up being as hot as it says, but I'm not counting on it.

Back from our trip. 5 nights/4 days Disney & 4 in San Diego. It was wonderful! So good that DH & I purchased our very 1st time share in Carlsbad CA :flower1:
Which pretty much guarantees more future trips to the land I love. Highlights: castle uncovered, perfect weather-aside from two 45 min showers. Blue Bayou/Fantasmic was wonderful. Rode mickeys fun wheel for 1st time & thunder mountain for 1st time in years. Lines were much less than previous years (spring break visits). Double Tree hotel LOVED! Will definitely book again!

Universal studios was almost ghost town compared to past visits. Legoland was very fun too & we had a few beach days seeing seals up front & personal in the LaJolla coves & finished our visit with sea world. We had as close to perfect trip as possible, and really don't have a bad thing to say...except for grouchy airline worker who checked us in for return flight. Thank you to all the Disers who helped share & prepare us for our trip!:rainbow:

Glad to hear you had an awesome trip!!

How are things going today everyone? Laundry day here, but then I can start packing.

I lost the USB cord that charges my camera, grrr, so I may need to buy a new one.

Cleaning my house. Spent all day yesterday making autograph books and they turned out pretty good, I must say. But now I am behind in my real work!

I hear ya! I have so much to do still. Our bedroom was a graveyard for clothes that the kids had long outgrown, so I spent a good chunk of my evening sorting through those last night, but I still have so much to do. My DH is only off today and tomorrow and then works three 12hr days and then we leave! I need to utilize his time off as best I can, yet he and the kids have been playing Disney Infinity for the past 2 hours :faint:. Although, I'm not much better because besides my camera charger (plug and cord, lost) when I was away for the weekend, my friend let me use the USB charger in her car to charge my phone, and so I lost the plug for my phone charger, too! UGH. So I've been keeping my phone plugged into the laptop via the USB cord and it is taking forever to charge. So I've been sitting here waiting--read: wasting time. :rotfl:

I am having some serious technical challenges today lol.

Sigh, every time I look at the weather for this weekend it keeps getting worse! It's hardly even that hot in July, much less March. First world problems, I know. But I almost want to cry. :sad1:

Last year we went the 2nd to last week in March and we were cold! It will be interesting to see how it is the last week of March this year.

We have gone twice in June and it never got over 75! This is different for us. :)
