March Break

Hi,

We're thinking about going during March Break.

What do you think the best choices of hotels are during March? (i.e. can some facilities 'absorb' the crowds better than others?)

Also, is there any difference at all with respect to crowds during the last 3 weeks in the month?

We've been four times during March break. I've never felt crowded at any resort, but the parks can be really crowded. Definitely get park hoppers so you can switch parks if the one you're at is really busy.

We went to WDW the second week of March in 2002 and the third week in March in 2003. The 2003 trip had longer lines for all the attractions. I think the earlier you can go in March the better for missing spring breaks. Most schools seem to start spring breaks the 3rd week in March thru Easter. On an e-night in March 2002 we rode Splash Mountain 3 times without getting off, in 2003 we had to get off and go thru the line again. There was always people waiting to get on. Some lines were about 15 minutes for E-night in 2003 and usually less than 5 in 2002.

Land Boat Ride 2002-15 minutes 2003-40 minutes
Peter Pan 2002-45 minutes 2003-75 minutes.

That is some of the longer wait times I remembered seeing on the rides.

We go every year in March, God bless DVC... Anyway, it can get busy at the parks so my advice would be to pick a resort with "other" activities you enjoy -- boats, swimming, lunches, whatever -- so you can get a break from the parks.

We like OKW this time of year because we leave winter in Indiana and come to Florida and the flowers and everything at this resort is so beautiful in bloom. It's also peaceful there.
