Flights are open now for getting to MCO for some airlines. Normally we'd be booking as they are very high and only rise from there..But this year is different.

Anyone still going ahead and booking flights? Or are you holding off due to everything as who knows the state of travel and destinations. We have a cruise booked out of Port Canaveral, but same thing for anyone going to Disney.

I recently found direct flights out of Syracuse with JetBlue over Christmas for just over $1K return, for my family of 5. As tempting as that price is, even with the exchange rate, there are just too many unknowns so I passed on it.

I hear you. We have a cruise as well at Christmas time (only booked as our march break one this year was cancelled). We're holding off airfare for that one.

Hi, this was going to be a big travel year for me. Turning 60 and wanting to travel. March cruise was cancelled, have DCL credit. Flights to Scotland this August and flights to Orlando for Christmas. All flights are booked with Westjet so I may end up with a large travel bank. I rebooked the cruise for next March and will wait to book flights until we find out when travel will start up again.. Also wonder if there will still be quarantine rules in place for returning travellers. One week vacation could require 3 weeks off work!

Exactly. That's a huge problem if that is still in place. DH and I can work from home myself (which is what we are doing now), but can't have the kids miss 2 weeks of school.

Also good point with previous points. We are most likely cancelling our Disney/cruise vacation in August and the flight is booked with WestJet. I assume they give credit? If this is the case, then we could put that towards March Break....IF....cruising is back without quarantine rules.

Sounds like a special milestone birthday for you. Hopefully you can celebrate in March!

Depending on where you live, if you can get to an airport that offers flights with Southwest, those might be ones to watch when new flights drop. We have September flights with them but if I choose to cancel those I will be issued a travel credit good until September 7, 2022!! If they cancel the flights I will be fully refunded.

The cost of our existing flights has already dropped once and our travel credits are good until Sept 7, 2022.

For those looking to book flights with the rare option of flexibility I would highly recommend Southwest Airlines. We fly with them 99% of the time as they're less expensive for us than flying out of Toronto and a great airline also!

I'm looking at flights for December, it's weird because the same flights are available on Delta and WestJet, Delta's being half the price. I am not sure what their policies are like though so haven't bothered booking yet. Still waiting for more details I guess. My PIF for the cruises is in September so I have some time to figure it out.

I see a good one way on Delta (TOR to MCO) for March break. Ugh...tempted to book it but know that's probably not a good idea.

It will be our 20th wedding anniversary March 13th. We were planning a trip to Orlando for then, but we are holding off now.

My big concern is what Airlines/Cruiselines will be in businesses in a year.

I have a credit from NCL for our cancelled cruise and I am not confident they will be around by the time I am comfortable going on a cruise. All these companies must have terrible cash flow right now.

Hi, I booked some flights for March 21, used up my travel bank with Westjet. The middle seat is not available for booking and you cannot use your travel bank for seat selection.

Middle seat not available because of social distancing?

Really tempted to book as have been checking daily and am only seeing prices rise. It looks like WestJet just released our return date today. It's 4K from Tor to MCO. Crazy...but I know this is normal for March Break. We have our August cruise that we will cancel and flight was WestJet so hoping we can use that flight as credit for March 2021. But of course, it's not 100% that things will be running by then.

While I fully expect that I be cancelling our July trip that we planned on driving down to from Ontario, I took a peek at JetBlue rates last night for our dates. The rates were down to $566USD return taxes in, for my fam of 5 for direct flights from Syracuse. Even with the exchange rate, that’s about $765CAD. So hard to pass up a great deal but just too risky.

We have a Christmas trip booked but if the 14 day quarantine is still in effect it will be a no go for us. Did a bounce back booking and booked our flights before Covid-19 was even a thing (in Dec 2019.)

I'm pretty confident that the US/Canada border thing will be resolved but if there is substantial reduction in what is offered at the parks (fireworks, parties, CP, etc.. ) I'm guessing we'll reschedule to March Break 2021/Christmas 2021. It will be the longest time gap for visits to WDW for us since 1998 --- although I think DH wouldn't mind not going back for the foreseeable future.

Given the harm and loss of life this pandemic has caused and the amazing efforts of health and other essential workers and the sacrifices that business owners have made (small, medium, larger ones as well) to keep us safe a WDW trip seems pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things....

We're scheduled for a cruise over March break. Do I book flights or not? I don't knos if we're going until we know more about the future of this disease and the response to it. I can quarantine upon return, but my kids can't and it would be hard for DH to do so, too.

Same to both. We are cancelling August (Disney World + 4 night cruise....so sad).

We rescheduled our cancelled March cruise to Christmas of this year. It's out of NY so that's a positive for flights as we don't have to book (and may be forced to drive if we can't renew our passports in time -and use our nexus to cross the border). If the 2 week quarantine is in effect, then we are fine the first week as kids are still off school, but then they would miss first week back in the classroom.

We also have March Break as per my post (I an OP) out of Port Canaveral. More positive for this one, but as commented, kids can't miss 2 weeks of school if quarantine rules are in effect. DH and I can work from home (although it isn't a normal thing for DH so he may be looked down on. I normally work from home 2x a week in "normal" times).

It is the unknown that makes us nervous! DCL was just a 15 month window to rebook I believe if it was longer we could change the March cruise to the summer of 2021. It would give more time for things to get better. The Westjet credit is good for two years.

That's good to know. We booked WestJet for our August trip that we'll be cancelling.

It does make me wonder what, if anything DCL will do if those March through May have to be cancelled again next year. So many people booked them as replacement cruises with credits.
