Just got some bad news......

turns out the main pool at SSR will be closed the entire month of March!! I am renting points and evidently the DVC members received a letter on this although it is not published as a refurb on this site. I am going to contact my "landlord" of the points and try to find another accommodation!

We are heading down for 10 days and this time it is US/IOA and swimming with the manatees. Can't wait. Staying on site and the kids are counting the days. :dance3:

Just joined Forums. We are heading to WDW on the 13th - 21st of March. Staying at Pop Century. I think my wife and I are more excited about the trip than the kids. Can't want to get there!

wishing you luck!!! pools are a big thing for us. we enjoy the resorts every bit as much as the parks.

we booked CR then found out the same thing- main pool w/be closed. were thinking about BC/YC then found out SAB is in rehab - and didn't want to book BWI when BC/BCV/YC w/be sharing the BWI main pool, w/ SAB in rehab. :rotfl:

so now we're at WL....lol.....unless Poly opens up.

We are actually trying to change out reservation but oddly enough they are saying they are booked?!?! We have a 2 bedroom at SSR so I was hoping for a 2 bedroom at BWV or BCV but I am not sure there is one avaialble.

I cannot for the life of me understand why they would close SAB and SSR main pool the whole month of March!! Especially when they charge it as "MAGIC SEASON".

I'm getting soooooo excited!! We decided against DC b/c we're not doing the dolphin swin & it didn't seem to make any sense to pay all of that money just to swim, but now I'm thinking of the manatee swim...hmmmm...sounds good! I'll have tocheck into it more! Last year we did the CBR and loved the meal plan, we would definetly do it again :banana:

but then again, my DH is a big eater so we definetly enjoyed it! This year, Regal Sun Resort- I want to see what it's like off Disney property- looking very forward to it! It's all about the pool- it looks awesome! :banana:

Update - according to the Manager, the Pool will be open at SSR in March. :banana:

They were going to close it but decided not to.

But Beach club SAB is closed in March (don't know the dates)FYI.

thanks! we were booked at CR and their pool w/b closed also!! Not that big a deal to me but a deal breaker for DH. We changed to WL.

Did you speak with the manager yourself concerning the delay in the SSR pool refurb?

yes I did. I had been following a thread on the DVC boards and a DVC member actually sent me a copy of the letter they received in Dec about the pool being closed so I spoke to the Manager about this letter. She actually left me on hold for about 5 minutes as I am sure she was checing her sources too. This is when she indicated that it was going to happen but not anymore - which makes sense as noone else seemed to know about it - every other resort pool closing but not it.
