March Break Anyone??

We're going March 13 - 23! We were surposed to be down there now but our trip was cancelled because of our cancelled flight :( I can't wait!!

Thanks- you too! We went last March break and I didn't think it was as bad as everybody warned us it would be. But this time we are going to Universal Orlando, Wet & Wild and Discovery Cove (we think!) Also, this time we are staying off resort- just across from Downtown Disney. Nice hotel  Are you planning on spending all of your time on site or are you renting a car?

We are planning to rent a car. We've done this before and are able to do other things:
-Cocoa Beach & Gatorland - Oct 2003 trip
-Kennedy Space Centre (loved it), Universal (was a bit of a let-down; I think we were spoiled by Disney) & Clearwater Beach - Mar 2007 trip

We are hoping to get to a couple new beaches, an orange grove tour and maybe a swamp tour this time.

Having a car is great because you can come and go at the parks without having to wait in bus lines. We also eat at various places: Olive garden, Bahama Breeze, Perkins, etc...Do lots of shopping too(DD 10 and I love to shop!):goodvibes

Haven't booked our car yet. If anyone knows of any great discounts, please let me know!

I know for sure that we are going to try and hit Epcot later on in the week (19-20) because the flower show begins. I'm very excited for that :cloud9: Last year we missed it by 1 week, and I love to garden

I love to garden, too and am looking forward to the Epcot garden show. Davy Jones will also be singing that first weekend...:hippie:

So the crowds weren't bad at Universal Orlando?? I am debating as to whether or not we should buy those express passes at Univer. Orla. where you just walk onto the rides and skip the lines but for two adults, two days it's $100.00  I'm wondering if it's really worth the money- It's just so hard to say b/c of the U.S. ecomony:confused3

From what I understand it is best to see how things are once you get to the park. You can buy the Express Passes once you are there if you feel you need to. Also, if you have a Disney mentality and get there at rope drop you will be able to get the more popular rides done before the parks get crowded. One more thing. The Express pass is only good for 1 time on each ride.

don't invest in the Front of the line passes! If Universal is anything like last year, just arrive for opening and you will have it all done by around 2pm!! We did the $85 5 day pass thing but to be honest, both US ad IOA are a 1 day park. It's a "been there, done that" kind of thing. As a disney lover, I was dissappointed - but I must qualify that DD's loved the thrill rides which I cannot do. They'd ride the HUlk before Hauted Mansion any day and yet they too missed the Disney themeing.

To put it in perspective, I can honestly say I have NEVER in the last 10 years see Disney as quiet as Universal was!!

Hi everyone!
My family and i are going to Disney World during the March Break. We are driving thru Hamilton. Any driving tips and how busy is it in the parks?
thanks

SSR and AKL March 15-23....did march break last year and it was fine ...see you all there!:cool1:

I'm jealous.
March Break is a fabulous time to go. Everyone's march break is different so it isn't bad at all.
We were there this past march break and compared to this past week at disney it's a piece of cake.
We have just returned from a trip dec.22-30th and it was not busy for the first 3 days and even christmas at epcot wasn't awful but everyday after christmas just got busier and busier...by 12pm we'd have to leave and come back in the evening. We found out though the best tip ever!!! and we actually went on big thunder mountain 4 times, space mountain 3 times and that was dec. 29th after dinner!!!.......so cool.
anyhow, yes march break rocks!! I wouldn't go at christmas again but march break for sure!!
oh and for what it's worth...I wouldn't do CSR again.
:hippie:

I didn't realize that the flower show begins so soon...better bring the DSLR and Allergy Meds!:flower3:

Mollyseven, Why wouldn't you do Christmas? DH and I are thinking about doing it next year. Thanks :goodvibes

We are going Mar 14 to 22nd. WJ out ot TO. Staying at Vistana Villages. This will be our 4th time at March break. we find the worst crowds are at the airports. For the parks just do some advance planning, use the Dis boards and one of the guides for visiting WDW. Have fun!

Thanks Grantclaire for the great advice! OUr flights are alittle bit wonky so I doubt that there will be many crowds there when we arrive and depart! 11pm and 6 am :scared1: But...I couldn't beat the deal we got so go figure! :thumbsup2

March 6 to 21st for us. Magic Kingdom to celebrate my birthday, won't need ticket so Fast Passes for entire family!!!!:cheer2:

Hey PKitty.....any DD's?? My DD9 and DD12 love meeting buddies around the poo or at activities?? It would be neat to meet some Canadians around the pool at SSR....

just booked today!! March 15th to the 22nd got the 4/3 day special..

Now to decide about the meal plans? advice

It's official. Going March 15-22nd at Vistana Villages. Doing Sea World, Aquatica, Busch Gardens and only 1 day at Disney  Debating between MK and Epcot for the Flower & Garden festival. Definitely torn! Adding a 2nd day at Disney is not in the budget.

We're flying with Continental out of Buffalo and have connecting flights. Crossing my fingers for fabulous weather cause that is the only thing that could complicate this vacation!!

Photomama - I have done the dining plan before and enjoyed it, but wouldn't do it again. We did the regular dining plan and it felt like we spent so much of our time eating! The plus is that we ate at some really neat places we wouldn't likely have paid OOP for.. and I do feel like we got out money's worth; however, it was way too much food for us and if we had just stuck to our "normal" eating patterns, we wouldn't have spent so much. It was a great way to experience a huge variety of restaurants at Disney though.. I feel much more informed about what's out there now. It really just depends on what your family typically eats and how you like to spend your days!
