March Break Anyone??

March 14 to 21. Can't wait. We'll be at CBR for the first time.

We leave from Feb. 26-March 5th! We just came back from a month long Christmas Vacation and got an awesome deal for March Break!!!! We are staying offsite this trip.....

Just a reminder for those flying to make sure to check flights. Just found out our original flight on Delta Buf-MCO was oversold and we no longer had seats which means we would have been on top of the bump list. We were able to get confirmed seats on a later flight the same day but I hate what would have happend if I had not been checking. We are heading out on the DCL Magic so I would hate to miss the boat.

It looks like alot of Canadians are going again this March Break. My WJ flight out of TO Mar 14 is now sold out! It was a non seat sale flight as well. Its great. Last year on the monorail into MK everyone in our car was from Canada.

mkmommy, how could delta cancel a paid flight and you have no seats? They have to put you on another flight. Not sure I understand how this could happen. Plus remember you pay for checked luggage on Delta now (so dumb).

We're on JetBlue from Buf and it's our first time on this airline so hoping for no issues.

I'm at 2 months.......:woohoo:

All the airlines oversell flights, and I guess my low fare got the short straw and if I had not noticed it if I got to the airport and the flight was indeed oversold I would have been waiting for the next available flight. I think what happend here was they combined 2 flights into 1 and some people needed to be moved around.

I.... emphasize the 'I'....want to go for March break too. DH is not really into it. He is fine with going to Mexico but that is way out of our price range this winter since we were at WDW for 2 weeks in July. Which by the way was not by choice....we had to be there.

Give me some ways to convince DH that he 'needs' to go back to the world for MB. I actually thought that I might have had him when he had to go out and clear the snow on Sunday.

All the airlines oversell their flights by approx 20%. They do it to make sure that they fly with as full a load as possible.

To minimize your chance of being bumped 1) check a bag.....they can not fly with your bag and not you. This is the law. 2)check in early....they will bump late comers.

We're thinking of changing some of our reservations- 1-2 days at Universals Pacific Resort and the rest at Regal Sun- the problem is, is that b/c we booked so early we got an incredible deal at Regal Sun (3 Star) but now b/c of the economy Universal has a great deal on if you stay for 5 nights. We would pay $400 more U.S. to stay at a deluxe resort. I'm not sure if I want to pay that money b/c in reality we're not really going to spend that much time there. What to do, what to do??:confused3

The good news though is that we are finalizing our dinner reservations, b/c as my DH likes to remind me 'it's all about the food.' :thumbsup2 So two nights at BOMA and 1 night at Emerill's. Any other great restaurants??

I realize airlines oversell their seats but as long as you get their early and have a boarding pass you are on - they can't just cancel your paid fare is what I was saying. I have been on many fligths where they start offering $200 to the people who will get off and fly on another plane. But if it is paid for and you have a boarding pass and your butt is on the plane ...... I think OP might have meant the flight was cancelled - not her seat.

As for convincing DH - sounds like my life. We too wanted to do an island or an all inclusive but for family of 4 it was close to 8K (mamma don't like the 3 or 4 stars). So I caught him in a moment where he"owed" me and I laid it all in front of him - "honey, if we rent points we can stay on site for XXX and we don't need a car and you can golf everyday and we can go out for dinner........". And here we are at 1 month and 3 weeks conting down. KEEP WORKING ON HIM!

Actually they can bump you if they have to.
We were flying dec. 22nd out of buffalo and they announced that the plane was sold out but for some reason there were 3 "unusable/broken" seats and so they needed 3 people to take the 2 free return tickets in exchange for taking another flight....no one took the deal so they then announced that if no one took the option they would have to "bump" the last 3 people who checked in for the flight.
That is reason enough to check in online 24 hours ahead....plus get to the airport that 1 hour ahead in the u.s or 2 hours ahead in toronto.
there were some unhappy people who checked in last:eek:
