We have three rooms booked for my family, and we didn't get any upgrades. We're still in Oceanview, my brother got the same category booked, and my mom actually got a DOWNGRADE from 6A to 7. Has anyone sailed with the "navigator's veranda?" Is it really that bad of a view?

I just noticed you are one cabin over from us. And we both have daughters named Kira/Kyra, just spelled different pronounced the same. So just prepare your daughter that if she hears "Kyra stop running down the hallway" or "Kyra get back here" I'm not yelling at her.
I once yelled "Tyler get over here" in a furniture store and the salesperson thought I was talking to him. I felt so bad, I wouldn't speak to an adult like I did my 4yr old who was climbing on mattresses.

Cool I noticed that too! Kira/Kyra has become a popular name in the last few years. The reason Kira has an I not a Y is because her brothers name is Kyle we did not want them both KY. Her name was actually picked out 4 years before my son was born. We meet a Kira/Kyra everytime we go to a Disney property and we are annual passholders. Why should the cruise be any different. Kira is looking forward to meeting your Kyra.
Good news our rooms are close to the secret deck on 7 aft (my favorite reading spot )the elevator and the laundry so I am pretty happy. Can't wait to meet everyone!

I got my GTY too, DW and I are in 5128. I can't believe they actually downgraded her-I thought a GTY in a particular category at least guaranteed you that.

What we were told was that when you purchase under the GTY rate, you are gaurunteed either an inside stateroom, an oceanview stateroom or a verandah room. Since a category 7 is still a verandah, we got our gaurunteed room, despite it being marked 6A or higher.

Yea, I thought it was weird that we ended up on Deck 5, but being that I got the TA rate, I feel like I shouldn't complain. From what I can tell (and someone correct me if I'm wrong), our room is a veranda room, though it has a white wall, it's not a navigator veranda. I have to call Disney anyway on two other matters, so I'll let you know what I find out.

That's funny; I actually used the Y because her older brother, Tyler already had a Y. But people always say her name wrong, they say it like Tyra. My screen name is actually part of my daughter's middle name. And we hardly ever run into to other Kyra/Kiras. We will definitely have to plan a meeting of the Kira/Kyras.

FYI: For those that are unaware- Our itinerary has changed we are no longer stopping in Mazatlan. Our new schedule is
Day 1: Los Angeles
Day 2 & 3: At Sea
Day 4: Puerto Vallarta
Day 5 & 6: Cabo San Lucas
Day 7: At Sea

Personally, I'm bummed they didn't substitute a new port (Manzanillo or La Paz, maybe?). But I'm still going on a Disney cruise, so .

Well if there had to be a change, Two days at Cabo is pretty good. I was wishing we would get more time there Friday, it is such a short day.The only problem is that it is a tender port. Now I need to look at other excursions. I want to Horseback ride with DD but with DCL she is too young.

Personally, I'm bummed they didn't substitute a new port (Manzanillo or La Paz, maybe?). But I'm still going on a Disney cruise, so .

La Paz is not really set up for a large cruise ship of the type that Wonder is...and Manzanillo is too far for a 7 night cruise.

Wow, was anyone actually TOLD by Disney about the port change? I was not (neither as a passenger myself, nor as an agent who has clients sailing very soon). I had to actually get into my reservation and look at the excursion page to see the change. I went to look at one client's ressie who is sailing on Jan 30 and they go to Cabo day 3 and 6, PV day 4, and at sea day 2, 5 and 7. Yet when you go to price out a cruise on the same sailing, it still shows the original itinerary.

I can't say that I am upset over the change as I'm cruising for the boat, not the ports, but am a little mystified over the sudden change and the lack of an official announcement or even an explanation why. Is Mazatlan really any more dangerous than the other ports? Does Disney know something that nobody else does about Mazatlan? Why go to Cabo twice? Why not stop at a different port, even a US port like San Diego or Catalina? Perhaps I'm crazy and maybe this is a logistical nightmare, but don't you think it would be cool if Disney let us vote on where the boat would go on the third stop?

I'm assuming that the lack of anouncement and slowness to respond to guest questions has a lot to do with the new boat debuting in Florida, but with the first cruise leaving tomorrow, I hope they become a little more open about things!

I read about the change here on Disboards and confirmed it by checking my reservation on the Disney website. I'm sure that they are working out the details of being in Cabo for an additional day. In a another thread I read that they will be mailing something out to passengers, which takes time. I'm glad that we are able to see something online ahead of the mailing, so we can do some more planning.

Problem is, it doesn't seem to let you select excursions for the second Cabo day yet. When I tried, it automatically brought up the first Cabo day and told me I had a conflict and wanted me to choose one or the other.
