Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!! We got our docs yesterday. No upgrade, but we are happy because we have one of the SPH rooms!

Maybe we could all meet for a drink?

Hi folks: well, have been VERY lucky and been offered last minute booking on your cruise.Look forward to meeting you all and have booked warm sunshine and calm seas for our sailing. Daughter works on the ship, so will be great to see her again. Not seen her for 5months, so be wonderful for us - her excited parents. Hopefully, we will be well-tanned before you arrive, as this will be a back-to-back cruise - to celebrate our 30th anniversary!Already packing here! Best wishes - Nat and Dave.

Got my documents today in the mail, no upgrade but wasn't expecting one. Who know maybe at port we'll get one.

It all seems so real now :) And the reall good news is just got back from the accountant and my tax return will be paying for the cruise!!!!!

Welcome Nat and Dave!!!

I am getting soooooo excited....I actually started packing some stuff that I knew we wouldn't need now

We will be at MCO around 9:30am so we are hoping we will be on the ship early...grab some food get to the room put ds(5) down for a nap and then PARTY the next 7 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a great idea to get together one evening!!! Let's plan.

:cool1:

We will be leaving for Florida a few days early, so our trip starts in about two weeks. Now I can go shopping for cruisewear for DS. I didn't want to shop ahead of time because at his age (he will turn 2 during the cruise), he goes through growth spurts and outgrows his clothes really fast! Anyway, I love the pressure of last minute shopping.

We are thinking about doing the following on our own (i.e. not with the Cruise Line) :
St. Martin - Visit the Butterfly farm and Marigot
St. Thomas - Spend the day at the beach. We have not selected a beach yet, but finalists are Magens Bay, Coki Beach and Sapphire Beach.
Castaway Cay - Beach Day!

Additional ideas/recommendations of what to do while onshore with a toddler will be appreciated.

On a separate note, does anyone know which other cruise ships will be docking with the Magic in St. Martin and St. Thomas?

Hi there Disboard - bet you as excited as us! We leave 25th for a back-to-back on the Magic. The Mariner of the Seas,Star Princess, the Zandam,Costa Atlantica are all listed to be docked in St. Thomas next week, so will probably be the same on our cruise. Here is a link for you to look at:

Marigot isnt terribly exciting for youngsters, but does have a rather nice market. I think we only paid a few dollars for a taxi to get us there before.

Look forward to meeting you very soon, and enjoy your journey and pre-cruise days! Nat and Dave

lazarru I am so jealous! I called the travel agent yesterday. She just called back to say that the tickets had just been printed and that she was still waiting for them. Maybe another week! :earseek: I don't think I can wait that long.

Anybody else get their docs?

Can't believe it's almost here. The kids have made a countdown chain. We're all really excited!

We got our Docs today after a Big Panic! when we called to ask about when our Docs would come and it turned out that our TA had lost track of our reservations! We thought they'd been paid for (had given them our credid card number, etc) and it somehow didn't go through and they never contacted us to find out why we hadn't paid! However, things got worked out and we have our same room, so whew! Probably lost any chance of an upgrade though (since we'd originally booked early /and/ it's my hubby's b-day on the cruise). So I will pout, but only a little bit.

We got our docs on Monday but didn't realize they were sitting on the front porch until Tuesday evening. But we got them!!!

I am sooooooooooo excited! My goal is to finish a lot of the packing this weekend especially since it's a long weekend. I usually wait until the last minute but I have been grabbing stuff and sticking it in the suitcase...so we'll see.

We have a super early flight so we will have to get to the airport like 4:30am

Just wondering is everyone a castaway member (been on DCL before)????

Talk to you guys later!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MommyZ

We're Castaway members for the first time this cruise. We did the
Western October 2003. Had such a great time that we rebooked while onboard. We also get to the airport pretty early. I think aroung 6 am.

Peanutgirl, I'm so jealous of your upgrade, since we did get the category 12 we signed up for (this is probably the only time there's ever disappointment in getting what you asked for!). Since we didn't book until last month, maybe we bumped you out of your 12 room. Enjoy!

Peanutgirl - That's great news! Congratulations! If you don't mind me asking, what was your old room and what is your new room?

Our upgrade was from a guarantee 12 to a 9 on deck number 1, so it is the 2 porthole and not the one big one. I forget the exact number and I am not at home to look but it was not a noisy room in the passporter so that is good.

I do not really care about the room because i do not plan on spending much time there, but the split bathroom will be nice.

We will also be on the March 5th cruise. We are very excited!!! It's our first Disney cruise. There will be 4 of us, myself, DH, DS-9, DD-6. We are flying out from Dallas the day before and will rent a car to stay at a hotel close to the port.

I have been looking at the shore excursion brochure and was wondering what other ex-Disney cruisers had done. There are 2 things I want to do at the port: some beach time & getting to know the island a little. Does anyone has similiar plan? What did you decided on? shore excursion or do it on your own? Is it difficult to go to the beach and tour the island on your own?

Also, for those that did the REAS before, is it worth the cost? Did anyone do the comparision between paying for the spa separately and booking the Palo reservation on your own? We don't really care for the gift basket & chocolate (not a chocolate lover ;-) ). The only reason I am considering the REAS is for the Palo reservation. Thanks.
